Can someone measure a stock pole... I have 3 here and none are the same length.

Also does anyone run the XFT pole on a stock hull? Or is the Xmetal the way to go?

JoeB runs and XFT on a stock hull.

Im running -2 Xmetal on my SX-R but that pole is going on my square with a -2.5 xmetal steering.

-4" XMW
-2.5" XMW steering
XMW bracket
= -6.5"

Thats what I run too !
and pats steering is -2.5
I would go pats steering
and a -3 or -4 pole.
that is great for both flat and surf ! :Banane01:

The ski I just bought has a cut down AC pole. It is -2.5 inches and it looks like it did before. You can see the pole in this picture

I will be selling when I get it off of the ski. I just don't personally like the looks of the AC pole. Aluminum or not I just can't get used to the look of it. It doesn't flow very well with the ski.

I am on the verge of buying my new pole as well. What I would think would be interesting is not only what length pole everyone is running. Also how tall are you vs the length of your pole (hahaha)

-2 24/7
-2.5 XMW

cracker, are you seriously not putting foam in your ski? you MUST have it bro...serious

that thing will sink

havent you seen this thread?

no front foam = cool

no foam in your holds = broken hull on bottom of monster hole

I know....I am planning on using something else to keep it afloat if it does fill up with water.:sneaky: I may end up just reinforcing and putting 2lb foam back in....gotta do some testing to see if my idea is gona work.

innertubes, w/ filler valve thru firewall??????/

:arms: Thats exactly what I was thinking...... I am realy not sure though now...what do you guys think? Is two 450f rear innurtubes gona keep the ski afloat? :Banane09: Not sure how much air they could hold in there. I am reinforcing the entire boat with Kevlar.

My main thing is I dont ever want to have an cut the tray back open because more water got in the foam.

My other thought was using the foam out of a Wave Raider that i picked up "like whats in the nose of the SJ". and 5200 it elavated on the inside of the hull tray area.

I am also gona put in some drain holes. I think Matt E put some on his ski.

oh hell... don't do it. Just foam it and be done w/ it. You will only make work for yourself.

Just for comparrison I just got the pole off of the ski and the AC pole is -2 inches and I compared it to the original pole. The stock pole stock length with 4 or 5 layers of paint weighs 9lbs 2oz. And the AC pole is 10lbs 4oz. If I shorten the stock pole 4 inches and bore the foam out of the middle a bit to run a 2 inch pole breather it will weigh even less. The main portion of the weight of the AC pole is at the top. Sounds like I am running a stock pole untill I snap it off a few times.

Wow 40 plus replys over 500 hits, on your pole-- just think if you asked about "flesh mounds". BTW that is a good looking ski for next summer- BR's before we leave Lanier ride '07 ?

There is nothing out there lighter then a stock pole.... that I know of. My X-metal feels heavier then the 10lbs they claim....I wish i would have weighed it.
