I came across Matt's Superfreak Review thread. Thanks for that write up Matt.

Get a second mortgage on the house you are buying and buy a stunt hull and a waterdawg motor.

second mortgage, I dont even have one yet LOL.. It will never happen! I am getting married to a accountant and I couldnt even justify that to myself.

I say go with option 3. Sell the bike and buy something pink for Michelle to ride. That way she is more likely to let you stay with her in the new house you intend to buy her.

Happy Wife = Happy Life :bigok:

Or I could quote the Lurker, "Don't ever get married", lol.

Go with the SF like everyone else said. Even the glass versions are crazy light and it will suit both flatwater and surf better than anything else available.

I offer to sell the bike and buy here a ski all the time! She would rather have me sell the bike and save the money. Ill definitely get the Freak when fiances allow.

Just my opinion on that last option you just mentioned: in my experience it's more fun to have a lighter hull with a (relatively) weaker motor than a stock SJ hull with a stronger motor.
(On flatwater)

X3 that statement. I feel likethe lighter hull is better in surf than the sj too now that I am used to it. I HATE riding an SJ regardless of how big the motor.

If you're trying to buy a house, forget about the hull or anything else for now.
Ride what you got, take care of what's important, and come back to revisit the issue once you're ready to buy.

Now thats not the American way at all, geez, your killing the economy here Matt.
We need peeps to borrow MORE MONEY, LOL.

That's cause all she's ridden is the Kawasaki. Get her on a purebred and see how she feels.

Jen rode my 07 once when hers broke down and I never got it back. I had to build myself a Matrix just to get back on the water.

Dang them Kawis. lol I can't get her to try my SJ now.

What engine did you get with that SJ? If it's the X-Scream 771 Travis picked up at Daytona then you should have plenty of power so no sense spending big bucks on a bigger engine...yet.

Q8 is my opinion . But I ride mostly flatwater .It's a very short hull an take s a while to get use too...but when you do it's retartdedly fun. It's really fun in the surf but it's a workout .

I rode a q8 a week or two ago. It would for sure take some getting use to. It felt really small! If I knew I was staying in Michigan I would go with the q8. The price is certainly appealing

don't even think about a q8 if your considering a freak, i have rode ratti's boat and my -6 freak back to back and put them side to side to compare lengths, they looked to be the same. the q8 is a fun boat but freak is amazing. don't listen to me go ride them both and you will see for yourself.

The Q8 is a fun hull but if you want something fun, small and stable and fun in the surf the Freak or a ROK hull will be mucho better for you IMO.
The X-FS / X-FR is a fun hull too but feels a little heavy to me. They handle great and feel LIGHT as hell next to any sj hull but compared to my carbon ROK, a Carbon Freek and a glass Q8 it feels heavy to me. STILL A GREAT RIDING HULL and a million times better than an SJ hull.

Hope that helps a little. The Q is a fun Flatwater hull but IMO not a boat chaser or a wave rider even once your used to it.
The ROK / Freak and X-FS can be ridden anywhere once your used to them.

Freaks are fun in the surf also, especially for usually small Florida surf, lightweight hull opens up all kinds of small wave trick options.

I am like 90% i want a freak. The price is the only downfall, gonna take a little bit before I can purchase. Selling my bike won't cover that purchase. :( maybe spring time. I certainly appreciate all the comments and advice!!!

Ha, I think before you make any BIG purchase you better treat the Wifey with something good to butter her up to the thought of you buying the new hull…knowing her she may not take to kindly to you buying a new hull ;)

Oh and by the way I get first dibs on your hull, that way I don’t have to re-do mine this winter…just sayin…

I am just getting used to this WDK Rev hull and what a huge improvement. I have not tried it in the surf yet (Pismo this weekend). It seems to me and after talking to a few differant guys with more experience than me that the wdk hulls are built for all kinds of riding. I jumped on my buddies superjet with a big dasa motor and mag pump a couple of weeks ago, it was just sooo clear that the after market hulls are Superior in all ways............Before getting this hull I was thinking my next ski was going to be a rickter. I saved alot of dinero and now I am thinking of checking out a Rok hull. IMO talk to sjetrider or jetmaniac these guys really kbow there biz and probably have something around that you can make work.
