I would like to see a shorter superjet with rocker and the pole mount move forward.

Yes, I just described a Rickter. Though a Rickter is $7k. Would like to see something for $3.5k like the BOB.

HA HA Thats exactly what I was thinking!

Kevin you don't need an expensive hull for surfriding none of them have any signifcant gains over a SJ. They handle differently but not better. Modify an SJ with super tubbies and save big$$$ Your problems have nothing to do with your ski, whatevers keeping you out of the water is whats holding you back. Theres just no substitution for riding, where have you been lately, I've only seen you once this summer???

mod a SJ hull to your liking and have way less in it...and more importantly you will know the quality of the boat unlike many of these AM hulls that are junk and cant handle a beating

Check, I don't ride on Sundays. The reason there are so many aftermarket flat water hulls is because flat water hulls need to be light weight, not because they handle any better. A regular SJ can be easily modified to handle as well as any aftermarket hull but it really can't be made any lighter. For surf riding weight isn't really an issue and some would argue (including myself) that a heavier boat has advantages in the surf, which is why a regular SJ is the ticket for guys who mainly ride surf. Most guys who are going with Rickters usually spend a good portion of there riding time on flat water as a Rickter is a Flatwater ski that just so happens to handle well in the surf also

All things considered, you get what you pay for in general. If you want a good quality build, crafted by someone who stands behind their stuff. I am interested in a hull that has both quality control and abundant feedback by people who ride this hull alot harder than I am able to with my limited talent. You will have to pay for that experience and craftsmanship. Thats why I have no problem paying Berky for the Superfreak I am hoping to be sporting by next riding season. And in all likelihood it may be the last hull I ever buy, his hulls are built to last.

And I realize this is more about being hull on a budget thread, however I learned long ago that if you dont get what you want the first time despite the cost, you will eventually want that hull eventually and then spend the money on it anyway. Now you have 2 hulls sitting around. Just my 2 cents.

personal preference...personally i think the rickters handle like turds..too wide, too lite and too short...superjets dont bury the nose..the people that are riding them do..but if u like it thats all that matters

Love my lightweight -2 Trinity SXR in the surf....I'm not a big air backy/roll guy, but this thing slashes and carves and re-entries like a champ. Still no cracks or problems with workmanship.

I love my Matrix ES in the surf. Much cheaper than a Rickter and much better built than....well, anything else on the market. I know it's only a few pounds lighter than a stock superjet but it handles much better and is so much stronger. It also has the rocker you speak of and can be ordered up to -4".
