I didn't.

I don't get all this cable cutting stuff.

I run the XMW straight bars, stock nozzle. The turn plate is on the middle hole, my nozzle is drilled to move the steering point closer to the nozzle, and the nozzle is cut to move enough.

Steering cable is stock and unmolested.

I just removed the springy connector end on the pump end of cable and used a right angle air grinder to grind the threads down to where they needed to be about 3/8 of an inch. if using stock steering stop.
