X-Metal turn plate

Compared to the stock turn plate, does the x-metal -2 turn plate have a "quicker" steering? It seems that both the stock and x-metal plates have three placements for the steering attachment, but is the x-metal placed farther out for quick steer or are they the same? On the same note, comparing x-metal's -2 turn plate against the blowsion -2 turn plate, which one has a quicker steering adjustment option? and does the straight bar option on the x-metal turn plate reduce the length a substatial amount over say the blowsion -2 which uses the UMI or Blowsion 0 degree bars? thanks guys, just doing some shopping and want some info/opinions

i thought the same, but wasn't for sure. also the x-metal has 4 placement holes for the steering and the blowsion only has 3, which leads me to think that the x-metal has more throw. I wasn't 100%, but i just wasnted some backing on this idea.

just the other night I lined up 5 turnplates:

old style Xmetal, UMI std., stock, WDK old vs. new

1. x-metal...has the MOST THROW...

2. wdk old and new same....slightly less than Xmetal

3. stock...bout the same as WDK

4. UMI std....easily has the LEAST amount of throw

put the pivot closer to the outside of the turnplate and you will increase the ratio (make it faster

also, shortening the turnplate makes the steering ratio faster vs. shortening the pole.....

Moving your steering cable to a outer hole on your turn plate doesn’t give you “More throw” What it does do is make your steering react quicker (your steering will max out sooner, hence the name “Quick turn”) The only way to get “More Throw” is to modify your steering nozzle on your pump. You must cut ”D” cuts into the forward edge of each side of your nozzle allowing a greater turn radius on the nozzle. You then need to modify how your steering cable connects to the nozzle by adding an extension to fully utilize the bigger turn radius. The combined Quick turn at your bars and greater radius on your nozzle will then give you greater “Throw”

yes, you're right, i used the wrong terminology. thank you for the correction. i ment quick steer and quicker sterring time......not more throw.....i have researched the "more throw" modification, and in my opinion it's too much work, but thank you for the correction. I knew what i was meaning, and other people that responded did too, but i wouldn't want to miss inform anyone else reading this thread.
