Worx 228 SJ questions

I was out riding today (Honeymoon Island) and was talking with a buddy about the Worx 228. He said it's probably not a good idea as our surf and wave area is rather shallow at 2-3 feet in some spots.. Any insights into this matter will help a lot. I personally think it will be fine but I haven't seen how deep the scoop is. I jump waves and usually land tail first, so I would assume the 2-3 feet should be plenty of wiggle room to not smack the bottom.. Be also said I'll be sucking up a lot of sand and too much seaweed.. I'm still new so I'm looking for help from you pros. Thanks

for the 08 plus SJ ? . Looks like a normal scoop grate, most run scope grates. I don't see a problem hitting bottom with the scope, usually landing in shallow water tail first you can hit the steering Nozzel. You got lots of sea weed there? Super dirty water ? Stock grates suck up weeds too and plug, even my 201 will plug with real Matty clumps of weeds.

Scoop grate is not a problem for your area. Look under the skis of most of your local riders and you will find a scoop grate.

One thing I have often wondered about is what the model numbers actually designate? Do they refer to the degrees of pitch they are angled at or the measurement of how far below the hull bottom they protrude? Example, if in degrees, the 201 is just that, 201 degrees from 0 on the angle, the 228 is just that...or is it 201 = 20.1mm below hull, 228 = 22.8mm? Any thoughts on this anybody?

I think there are other models too though that still apply toward 96-07 SJ's. I believe there is a 203 and 205 too no?

228 is for 2008+. I've had one on each of my 2009s.

According to what I've read, it's simply a model number as the 228 is for (don't quote me) 14' + SJ whereas the 201 is for pre 14'. Otherwise, the same thing. Could be wrong though.
