LAND USE ORDERS OF THE DIRECTOR
Amendment No. 18 of 2007
By authority conferred on the Director of the Department of Natural Resources by Section 504 of Act No. 451 of the Public Acts of 1994, as amended, being section 324.504 of the Michigan Compiled Laws and in accordance with R 299.671 and R 299.922 of the Michigan Administrative Code, the Director of the Department of Natural Resources orders that the following order of the Land Use Orders of the Director shall read as follows:
8.3 Certain state-owned lands, prohibited conduct.
Order 8.3. In the event of a statewide governmental shutdown commencing on October 1, 2007, a person shall not enter, use or occupy any of the following described state-owned lands or facilities, as posted:
(1) Any designated shooting range, except Island Lake RA shotgun ranges.
(2) Any designated campground.
(3) Any state park or recreation area day-use area, outdoor center or cabin area.
(4) Any state-operated, developed marina facility.
(5) Any boating access site.
This order shall be effective until governmental operations are resumed as determined by the Director.
This amended order shall be posted on or after September 28, 2007.

Due to the partial government shutdown, several services of the Department of Natural Resources will be affected. Here is a partial list:
State parks, state forest campgrounds, state recreation areas and state-owned marinas are closed. Full refunds will be issued to campers who have reservations for days the parks, recreation areas or marinas are closed due to the partial state government shutdown.
Archery deer season will open on Oct. 1.
DNR-operated deer and bear check stations will not be open.
Hunting and fishing license sales online and at retailers will function as long as the state's computer servers remain functional.
DNR field offices, Operations Service Centers and visitor centers are closed.
Waterfowl hunting season will open Oct. 6. However, if the partial shutdown is still in effect, there will be no staff available to run the draws at managed waterfowl hunts.
The DNR will not issue burn permits.
