I played with a Wii once.......... Next morning I felt like I had gone through about half a round with Dontay Wilder...........

That crap kicked my ass!

funny thing is my kid is doing a science project on the health benefits of active video games. We Fit is good but it doesn't get your heart rate as high as other games.

if you get wii resort.. which works with the balance board too.. there is a stand up jet ski game on it.. actually pretty fun... plus there is a stick fighting game which is extremely addictive... def fun.. but i think you do get boarded of it.. we havent played ours in months...

We have had one for nearly a year, but got pretty bored with it. I'm not that into video games, anyway. The board is touchy, but I became a yoga "master" in minutes. Not a big challenge, if you ask me. I'd get a better workout taking a walk.

I got the wii fit for xmas in 08 used it about a month didn't really care for it but in may i got the EActive game for my wii...so much more of a workout, the half hour workout on there kicked my ass, got my hr up, and is way more resourceful...i know its way past xmas but i recomend the EActive game over the fit...the only thing i use my fit pad for is my ramon's raving rabbids game...

My cousin has one, they got bored with it pretty quickly. I tried it once, wasn't too impressed. I think most people would do better if they actually got outside and did something, like basketball.

thanks fishy...my wife uses the yoga and strength poses...along with running on her treadmill, but wants to kick it up.

DJ, My son uses it and has a blast. I think it's a good thing and glad to here she is enjoying it.

Like anything it's about intensity level and even as tough as our wrestling practice is, some guys wrestle and train at a high level of intensity -- they get a better workout.

If core conditioning was the only important aspect of physical fitness wii users would be rockin' sadly the principals behind weight loss aren't so easy. A very basic equation is the only one that leads to weight loss; this taking in less calories than your body burns each day. For example if your body requires 2500 calories of energy per day to sustain life properly taking in 3500 calories and working off 500 at the gym still mean 500 calories of extra energy will be stored for later use as fat. Although holding your body in form that requires core strength is very beneficial and can elevate the heart rate, it will hardly burn enough calories over an hour to battle even a slight over indulgence of a few hundred calories. Get out, get a good pair of shoes and go for a jog away from cars and their exhaust. If you have injury or joint pain, get to the pool.

Eat less, move more.

That is hilarious and so true! My wife was working out with her best friend twice/week then her friend bought a Wii Fit and said she'd just work out at home instead. That lasted about 2 Wiiiks and no more working out, either at the gym or at home.

Our kids would rather go outside and play or ride bikes than sit inside and play on the Wii. We held off on buying one until just recently and it's been nice to see them go outside like always.
