Thanks guys.

Crab, Horsepower, tubbies and an inch off the back make an X2 really fun in the surf. Especially on the face of the wave.

Mr. Yamaslut, I think I will bump into you on the west coast again this year before I drive south again. Maybe Ross will let us sleep on his floor again. But I assure you I will be down in the winter. Your spot is my favorite place to be in the winter:Banane01: .

You are always welcome to ride up here with us. 40 degree water makes your motor run really sweet:Banane13:
holy shrinkage

The inch off the back makes that much difference in being able to slide out the rear of the machine?

i rode petes x2 in daytona. that boat should be considered a "how to" example of what to do to an x2 to make it surf-worthy. that effing thing shreds like no other x2!!!

I'm trying to get there with mine, not sure about making it shorter or changing as much stuff as Pete, but anything else that makes it "worthy". I'm the only one in our group riding one, I kind of like that action. Got to show these "kids" that grey hair and "vintage" watercraft still rock:beerchug: .

Its true, the my kids tell me not to turn sideways, can't see me then.

It is like taking 20 pounds off the nose.

X2's have what I call a "push" in stock form. Mine is what I describe as "quick" and a little "loose". Much easier to keep upright when you are in weird situations, it pretty much gets your balance for you when you get a little tippy. Just pin it and it straightens itself out.

So, when you cut about an inch off the rear, do you leave the rideplate area alone or cut it back also? It looks like the hull is solid at the rear and shouldn't need any repair.

Cut the rideplate to match at least, or make a D cut in it if you really want the nose up. Mine has about a 3/4 inchsquare notch in it rather than a D cut.

Decided not to cut the boat shorter, but cut a nice D in a stock plate. Got it out today for a test at the lake, WOW, it really helps get the nose up with full trim, And shreds like a mother######. I cant wait to get to Westport next weekend, even one of the Blaster guy's wants to take a crack at the X2, good call Pete.
