Who does best freestyle porting on SXR ?

The best way to do a sxr cylinder for freestyle...machine the base of the cylinder, then port, and lastly make a set of custom domes to fit.
A little more work, not as easy as a superjet.
Or leave the porting stock then get an Advent CDI, pump in a ton of compression, good set of carbs, special attention to setup of Factory wet pipe and prop/nozzle tuning.

Still Fat....
i can give you some info from her ski
03 sxr..
Steve at Kommander rebuilt it
simply rebuild
it surprised me at the bottom end response the ski has
ALOT of PULL. it will pull my fat a$$ up from a dead stop
Just port matched, VF3 reeds, Kommander head (27cc domes)
i can't wait to put the wet pipe on it.
for a simple rebuild like this, simply awesome, however as Chuckie said.. it's the whole package that will come into play.... and i have a whole package to complement the setup. 227 and Daralekt have ridden the ski and agree it's got alot of power for the amount of work done to it.

Also think about swapping the hood out too, what a BIG difference it made. We just installed the 3dr hood on her ski. I am VERY pleased with it, and so is she

we didn't do any porting on her setup because of using the stock exhaust.

you have plenty of options out there for the SXR, like Big bore, stroker, etc..
Paul at LPW and Steve at Kommander have alot of good tips and setups for the SXR motor...

Drop as much weight as you can. It added as much brap (if not more) than putting my pipe on. My ski rips as hard as alot of superjets that have wayyyy more mods.

also...aluminum flywheel!!!!!

I know about lightweight hull and woud like to have SXR EVO Pro (Carbon/Kevlar Epoxy Resin Hull) 68 lbs instead of 190 lbs stock but price tag of $8199.99 doesn't really match my earnings at this point of my life. If dot woud be standing one number to the left I woud be driving there wright now, but ... dream on Victor ,dream on.

Yup- Don let me ride his wifes ski and it has a lot more pull than mine (Other than an aftermarket handle pole, my SXR is completely stock though) If I were you I'd PM Don for advice or call Steve at Kommander for build recommendations

I forgot!
it would still be cheaper to get a superjet. cost to lighten a kawi = 6-8k, the cost to build a freestyle kawi motor that works better than a yamaha motor =????.?? people are free to do what they want but if you want a freestyle ski start with the proper ski. the bigger pump makes a big difference too so you will want to upgrade tha kawi pump to equal out the score.

DJ, out of curiosity how much does your kawi weigh and how much do you have into your current setup $$$$ wise.
