Other Which ski for the weekend warrior??

So I use to be into jet skiing in the early 90's and the last ski I owned was a 91 650sx. Great ski at the time. I had to let it go. Fast forward 22 years and I want to get back into it. I picked up a cheap project (89 550) and like everything else ive owned I want to trick it out. But I knew I would want bigger and better. So I'll save the 550 for my 11 year old. I ride lakes and rivers mostly. I was figuring on spending about $2,000-$2500. What ski do you recommend and why? Superjet, Kawi 750, ??? Thanks, Newb!

Sweet, Ill def. check the thread. Is it pretty much an open invite? Hope you dont mind a 550 coming out to play. Its all I got for now untill I figure out whats next. Im just stoked to hit the H20 again. Whatcha mean by here we go again? Is this a FAQ? :)

He means here we go again because the question, "Should I get a kawi 750, 800 or a yamaha superjet?" get asked about every other day.

Most people prefer the RN supersets but everyone is different and you should try both and make up your mind from there as Kraus stated.

pre 96 are the older style square ones, 96 to 07ish are all the same rounded style, and they made some further changes for 08+

I found some old Pics of my Boats.
Pay attention to the Nose area.
This is where they get their names.

I think it really Depending on what your riding style is. If your into just carving I would go with 800 sxr, I rode one this weekend and they are very impressive. But if you think you are more into the free-riding defenitly go with superjet it feels 50 lbs lighter on the nose than the sxr.

Man i did the same thing you are doing about a year ago. 2 440's, 2 X2's, 650SX for the wife, 750SX with group K Hammer 96 800, 2 B1's, Bullet SXR,BOB, Trinity EVO. Well after all is said and done I have 2 B1's and the Trinity, but should've kept the Bullit SXR, as light as a SJ but outhandles it no sweat. Actually the Bullit rides better than the Trinity. All just opinions here,go get wet and get a helmet.

You're in Loomis? I'm 40 minutes north of you in Marysville. I go in the Yuba river by myself up here all the time, well during the weekdays at least. We also have a group of guys that go to Miller Park in Sacramento almost every weekend.

Bring out your 550 one day! We can switch for a bit. I really got into skiing on my 550sx. Kinda sad I'm selling it :^(. I'm sure you could try out a few other skis too. Yeah buddy!

@Benny - There's that hood you told me about! Probably halfway burried under the sand by now.

Sorry to get off topic, I used to live in the Yuba City/Marysville area many years ago. My Parents took me to the Yuba river often. I was pretty young and it was before skis were even invented. I have good memories of that area.

It's your thread, get as off-topic as you want. It's a decent area I'd agree. I'm doing the Air Force thing here.

I actually ride all the way up the Yuba river until I hit the dam. It's a fun river run. Especially fun later in the summer when the river gets lower. A few areas where there are rapids. I've only destroyed one impeller so far :^).

RN superjet would be a great ski to get back into the sport! Your going to have to spend a little more than $2500 though typically they go for atleast 3K depending on mods and condition can go up into the 4-5K range easy...
