The ski in question is a 1996 kawasaki 750 sxi looks to be all stock.

what is the good the bad and the ugly on these things?

buy it cheap and trade me for one of mine. I would geuss $1500ish but it depends from area to area Most will tell you not a good freestyle ski

Good - carves nice, good rec ski, Kawi top end
Bad - not ideal for freestyle, Kawi bottom end
Make sure it has good conpression and runs good.
Dont pay more than $1500 unless it is piped and pimped
If you want to ride and dont plan on doing any BR or BFs the Kawis are a lot of fun!

Didnt someone have a really nice one for 2500 OBO in MI a few months ago cause I dont think 1700 is cheap not even for my area

I'd say 1200 to 1500 depending on condition. Decent recreational ski. Carves better than an SJ, that's for sure.

there was a 750 on the side of the road (m-43) near m40. I think the guy wanted 500. Needed a bit of work but what out there doesn't. I'll look into it since i wasn't the one who saw it.

Look at this ski...loaded 750. He had a problem selling it at this price on the board. That was the cleanest ski you can find and loaded with parts closer to sumer.
