I would like to try the surf stance. I learned to ride in the rough chop.

I'm new to surf riding and will try it all.

I've never seen a surfer do this either(see attached). Everyone has their own style, but not riding only in footstraps doesn't make you any less of a surf rider in my opinion. Freeride.

jk goes so high he doesnt even need to turn the bars off the wave for a stab, just body english and it turns.

you should have seen the height he was getting in Australia against all the aussie boy's when they had a stab heigh comp.

What makes the most well rounded SJ rider? Well that depends on who's judging you. In a freeride contest venue, I believe your judged 50/50 on aerials and surf riding. What you ride weather an SJ, kawasaki or polaris is personal preference. When your riding with your peers, usually big aerials get the nod mostly because not everyone can do them and most people want too.

In IFWA freeride contests style has very little effect on most of the judges scores. So if you want to go by the only current "freeride comp standards" amplitude, amount, and variety of tricks is what makes the rider.
