What is the dumbest, most ridiculous comment you've gotten about a standup?

There are such things as stupid comments, and there are some things that people say that make you wonder...does this person have any type of brain matter?

Today at work, I was trying to explain to my coworkers what a Superjet was. "A Superjet is like a jetski that you standup and balance on. When you're learning, you can start on your knees and work your way up to standing. It's much different then a sitdown jetski...these take skill and endurance to ride. A sitdown jetski...as my friends and i joke...take as much skill to ride as sitting on a couch...so when we see them, we call them couches"

response: "Woody...why do you call them couches...couches don't float..."

I got 06 SXR . Last year one old guy after seeing me ride ask me how old my ski and after I tell him reply "I think they stop make standups 20 years ago, I didn't see one in 10 years or more"
And another time another guy ask me what is it ?. I said it's standup ski, you standing up to ride it. And he asked- where is the sit ???

Old people make the funniest comments.

Our previous neighbor, about 80+ years.

saw them on the trailer, and asked me, " is that some sort of scooter that you ride on the water?"

he had a cushman, and others, I got all the stories.

and my grandad nearing 90 years of age, after just shaking his head as I tryed to explain how to ride it.

I came back to the dock after burning a tank of fuel, he was sitting there drinking jack and coke, and when I pulled up he says something to the effect of

" dang boy, it looks like you are fighting that thing out there, and it is winning!"

About a year or so ago when CA was about to implement the new ban on 2 stroke sales, I was at the launch ramp preparing to flush my ski, when this Volvo driving, tree huggerish dude with a kayak on his car pulls up next to me. After I finished flushing, he looks at me with a smirk on his face and says “what are you going to do with that thing when they outlaw them next year?” He was obviously under the impression that when 2 strokes could no longer be sold in CA that they also could not be ridden. I then explained that the law doesn’t forbid riding them, only that they will no longer be sold in CA. I also let him know that you could still buy new ones in other states which could then be ridden in CA, and then I made sure to ruin his day by assuring him that we were here to stay as there are many aftermarket companies which continue to make parts that will keep the existing skis on the water for the next 20 yrs.

Freakin jerk cop too. I hadn't tranfered the registration yet (still within 30 days) so he made me sit there while he called in to dispatch to check the registration on the ski. Then he wouldn't believe me on the 30 day rule so he had someone at the station look it up, all while my daylight was fading.
