What did you plant ?

some of them are bachelor buttons , not sure on the others , I grew them from seed a few months back , I pretty much grew everything from seed this year other than a few eggplants and bell peppers I bought for 50 cents each , I got tired of babysitting the flowers and wanted them in the ground .

When they are in starter container in potting soil you have to water them daily , that pretty much goes with anything planted in potting soil .

Honing Bench

My home made honing bench uses a harbor freight parts washer tub (every other part besides the tub itself is trashed). I plumbed in a shut off valve to the bottom, using 3/8 lines into an oil filter. The motor is from amazon, and is meant for fuel transfers (it's a gear pump).

I run copper line to the top so i can route it where i want. I did have to make a block off plate for the tub's previous wiring hole. I also used a grommet to seal the hole. I use 3/8 line so i can stick the outlet wherever i need using copper clamps that i made with some left over coper pipe.

I fastened a 2x8 in the tub at an angle and drilled holes to mount the cylinder via the exhaust manifold holes.

I use a Sunnen AN-815 hone on a 10a drill plugged into a transformer so i can set the max rpm (no i do not know the actual rpm) . I move in/out by hand. The oil flows very well. I have had good results so far... call me crazy, but i went three sizes up with this bad boy. Yes it took forever.

Material cost ;
Harbor freight welder ; 70 bucks
Stealing from the shop at work ; free
Total weight about 30lbs
Edges? Sharp
Round? Not really
Functional? Probably, with some leaking
Can I weld? Also not really
Can it take the surf? No, absolutely not.
I’d call that a poverty water box if I say so myself

Maybe next time I won’t wait until 4 days before a trip to triple swap the b1 :)

Today I am finally rebuilding the tool trailer , it's over 4 ft wide so plywood was going to be a PITA and expensive so I used tongue and groove 1 x 6 's for the floor , the chassis was a rusty mess, all of it was sanded down , painter with Black Rustoleum then over that with Rustoleum rubberized undercoating.

On the wood I didn't want to undercoat it , I had some really nasty oil that had water in it, a milkshake , I applied it several times waiting for it to dry between coats, it is still soaking it up so I coniine till it no longer soaks it up, flip it over and do the top the same way.

You gotta start somewhere. The key points with welding are simply clean metal, and practice!

I’m finishing up electrical work for a buddy of mine here soon he’s going to sit me down and teach me some things about welding including tig
The good part was it didn’t leak and it sounded good. Bad part is it’s covered in surface rust haha

It has a few wrinkles in it that will come out when the seat is on the machine, like most Yamaha seat bases this one has gotten really weak over the years and the vinyl is pulling it slightly out of whack.

Considering my starting point I will call it a success .

That turned out great. It's SOOooo easy to fix these right once you figure out a 'system'. I like to grind out that nasty rotted foam with a flap wheel and make straight edges pretty much like you did. Then I can easily cut those straight shapes out of new foam with huge chunky scissors. Glue it in, then I trim it down with an electric filet/carving knife. Smooth what's left with the flap disc and re-wrap. Of course, it helps when us fixer guys have foam around to cut out of on old seat from the boneyard LOL!!

yep that's the exact same process I used, I have had them so damaged that I cut the whole top of the seat off and glued in a new piece and shaped it , I did an HX seat that way with salvaged foam from a dead ski , I also did a Waverunner XLseat that way and made it into a flat seat on a sales ski .
