$300 bucks! That’s unreal
Yeah I think there has to be $300 of lumber on the floor , it's brand new, I painted it yesterday with some rust preventative paint I got at Lowes , it was a mistint so it was $9.00 for a gallon, also it has a mobile home axle with crappy tires on it but I have another trailer I built to haul ski hulls off with, it has new conversion hubs and new tires on it, I am pulling a switcheroo.

How much aluminum is there where you tapped it? I.e., how many threads are actually engaging there?
In the casting the spot where I drilled it was pretty thick. I didn’t measure the thickness but if I’d have to guess it was about 3/16” or so. It looked like I got about 3.5-4 threads on it. It pulled down nice and tight. If I anticipate it being an issue I can always put some riv-nuts into it.

Last weekend I grabbed a Protec pipe. Fabbed up a lord mount for it today. Grabbed the iso mount from grainger for $3. McMaster had stainless but was gonna ship from NJ and I’m trying to get on the water this week.

My intake grate is at the bottom of the lake lol…
So modifying one to fit and it Needs lengthening as well… made this Jig (twice) to help the welder

Any future Jig’s, I’ll make the precision part first, when that’s correct, continue building the rest of it..

Did it the other way around on my first attempt lol

I did say that lol, I edited it. I read the post and for some reason assumed you lost it twice because of two jigs before rereading lol.
Shouldn’t be boozing at 2pm on a Friday I guess!

Fabbed this jewel up today, the most expensive items were the narrow hose clamps, fat tire conversion sells the DMO intake for $99.00 plus shipping, this I believe began life as a timberwolf 250 intake that the rubber had seperated on, I took the rest of the rubber off and made the step with a hand file, then I angle milled it slightly with the side grinder followed by sandpaper on a surface plate, new clamps and a new silicone tube complete the setup and I just saved about 90 bucks and got to put the stock carb back on the BW, WIN WIN.

This has been on the backburner for a while but the concept is to have an enclosed trailer so my skis don't get sun damaged and when you get to where you want to go pull the skis out air up the air matIress , plug up the AC and bunk out for the night, lots of pics ahead. This build uses all the skills I have in one project, everything from Carpentry to welding and upholstery .
