I only use my dry for when it's really cold, like water temp under 55 or so and the air about the same.

You need to wear what is appropriate to prevent hypothermia if you have a problem and are stuck in the water for a bit.

I think I'm gonna take a bunch of peoples advise in here and get the baggy drysuit with footies from Watcon ($369.00). I'm a freeze baby:baby:

I would wear a dry if the water is 70 and the air is 65 or below:baby:

Drysuits really are too hot for me with water and air over 60. I am fine with a 3/2mm wetsuit with a 1mm vest/hood combo until 55F air/water. Dont get me wrong, I love my drysuits, but its not the best when that water is not THAT cold.

I am a big fan of Randys suits. The front zipper and booties are the only way to go.

I have a 6.5mm wetsuit that works in water down to 45 degrees. The hard part is keeping my head warm. One thing I used to do when I went whitewater kayaking in Nov. and Dec. was to take a milk jug full of warm water. Put your wetsuit on then pour the warm water in. It helps alot with that initial rush of cold water coming in the suit when you first jump in.

I wear a neoprene diving hood to keep my noggin from freezing. Otherwise, you really can get an ice cream headache from Hell.

Do the gloves zip onto the suit too? I was jet sking this weekend and my hands got cold quick. I was wearing some MX style gloves. To me a dry suit is the way to go! I wonder how well those neoprene head/ski mask things work? Like what divers wear.
