Hey everyone,
New to the forum. Read posts and threads from time to time on here figure I would hop on. Lot of useful knowledge and discussions from fellow riders on here.
Picked up a new SXR 800 in Apr 10'.
Coming to the realization that the biggest dilemna on the SXR is the weight of the stock hull...
I'm curious if there is anyone out there that has been able to develop a good formula of aftermarket parts that will get the bulky SXR stock hull to perform at least a good "flatwater" barrel roll and/or backflip. From what I understand a BF is very difficult to impossible on the stock hull (even with aftermarket parts).
I have put a few parts into mine already including a RRP pole, did the D-cut mod on my ride plate, TDR waterbox, got a good deal on turf and footholds so threw those on also. I know there are a few things to drop some weight such as an aftermarket hood, etc.
Can't say I'm real interested in refabbing the hull itself to drop weight though.
I have looked into the trinity hulls. Now do these hulls allow you to move your SXR components from your stock hull into these lighter hulls? Kind of aggrevating and annoying that I might have to spend an extra $6000+ to go this avenue. But might have to do so anyway.
