This needs to happen again in August 2009 just as a FREERIDE ! just show up, ride,camp,and whatever all weekend . Everybody had too good of a time to let this ride disolve .Im sure with a little board chatter that enough people will go ,and if not I know I can get a small crew from ohio to ride the weekend for sure

Well I'm up for going to Lk. Michigan for more riding, but how about we all meet up somewhere better. (not BFE dry county) South Haven is a good town, and the waves get pretty good there. I'd rather stay at a hotel, anyway. Plus the nightlife and restraunts are nice. Benton Harbor is good, too.

I thought the location from '08 was awesome. No long no wake zones to get to the lake, camping within walking distance from the beach and skis. We could carry fuel right down to the beach and fill up, leave our skis on the beach all weekend. It would be a stretch to find another stretch of beach where we could do this without catching hell from the local authority. I say we do Claybanks again.

Muskegon is good too. (see avatar)
Launch right off the beach, plenty of hotels, restaurants, fuel, shopping, etc....no hassles (just no overnight beaching of skis)
.........unless you want to camp at North Muskegon State Park, which is just across the channel with plenty of space, beach your skis, etc.....

I think that an additional ride at muskegon would be great either earlyer in the season or my prefrance a cold weather late season ride for better surf sept or oct

Waves are better in Sept/oct for sure . But you you can still get great waves in Aug as we have seen in the past ,all it takes is a wind . You just cant beat the crystal clear fresh water ,nice clean campground ,campfires , and a perfectly clean white deep sand beach , lots-o-sun, $20 a night '' PERFECT '' just show a little respect to the other campers and beach goers and no-one will complain .

It should be at the same time and place. I will talk to Chuck and find out what's cookin... It is an amazing beautiful spot and the waves were KILLER last year.

Camping is great. The authorities left us alone and it was reeeeallly laid back. One of the great freerides for sure!!!!

UH ? Im tired of waiting already and mean no disrespect to ''CG '' the originator of this ride ,but don't ya think that if he wanted to get involved that he would of got it started by now? I mean its only 3 months into the new year ???? Besides I believe the original business that promoted this ride has been DISOLVED ! . Lets just set a date for AUG -21/22/23 cause thats what it was last year and it wont interfear with the PUT-IN-BAY ride the week before . All are welcome / Nothing is required as this will be a FREERIDE !!!! no prizes just fend for yourself share what you bring and enjoy what comes along, what could be easier ??? I'm just trying to get this moving along . PS : My crew will be there, anyways LOL, Mabe call it the '' camp-n-ride '' or the '' B.F.E.-RIDE'' FWIW

I'm in and I agree with blaster 800 on all his topics. Remember I have been there a day eary for the past three years . Jesse at the camp ground has been very kind and I'm sure the township understand were all adults using the park. And may be this year I can ride unlike my broken shoulder-last!
