WaterSeperater,

I think my waterseperater is getting to close to full...What should I do? Get rid of it or empty it, second how do I empty it, just unscrew it?

Dude,

Call me a NEWB, I am,

I just have a habit of focking things up trying to do it without asking...So for now on, I ask for almost all my ski ********...

I just keep an eye on it and drain it when it gets about half full. It only seems to fill when I do alot of stabs. If it is getting full of fuel then you need to replace the one way valve coming from the fuel tank.

Mine kept filling up every time I took it out. A much better alternative is to just pull the tube off between the check valve and seperator, leaving a short stub of tube and a check valve on the tank for ventilation, no water in the gas since.

I have seen some people do that and it will keep water from entering the fuel tank. The only problem I see is that if the one way valve fails you will get nice squirts of fuel oil mixture in the bilge. I will just keep on draining the seperator on my junk.

I never understood getting rid of these. Mine works really good. I drain it once a week and thats it.

To have just the valve on the tank allows for instant water entry should your ski sink or even fill half up and tip to the right.

It may seem that way, because water will go in right? But it wont happen, because for water to get into the tank, air or fuel has to come out, and they cant, a little water may come in because of the air compressing underwater, but otherwise water will not be 'compelled' to come in because nothing can come out to allow water to take its place. Mine was full EVERY time I took it out, but I do a lot of subs and stuff so, it was a no brainer for me.

I never get much water in my hull. The only time I've gotten water in my tank is because of the separator. For me it serves no purpose and it's an eyesore and it takes up space, so I get rid of it.
