Umi death Part IV & XMetal replacement.

:notworthy: ... The steering cable is mounted super cool and sano! Cool setup. I should be on the water tomorrow! :cool2:

Umm.... hmm... you might want to rephrase that? I believe that our experience today begs to differ :twak: Items needed to make a stock steering cable work:
1 Dull Hack-Saw
1 Wrong Size Allen Key
1 Pair of Vice Grips
1 Stolen Machine Screw
1 Philips Screw Driver
Whole bunch of loctite, duct-tape, 2 part epoxy...

I think if I cut down my 800 cable and thread it down a little further, it should work fine (for the rest of this year).

I need a new cable anyway...so I'll get a 750 one over the winter.

djkorn1 he's right switch too the dual bolt system, just go the the local hardware store. i made mine for like 6 bucks. the pole stays where you want it and is very easy to move. just takes some getting use to..

i dunno... i just cracked my stocker sj pole a few weeks ago and went to an ac alum pole... i tightened up the bolt and i have a blowsion spring and now the pole just stays wherever you put it since the bolt is tight

im kinda diggin this setup now... makes one handers/no handers kinda fun.. when you go to find it again, the pole is right where it was when you let go.

try with no spring!
stiff/nospring is better than loose/nospring.

for the few months i rode my ski stock last year the stock pole with heavy spring killed my back.. i need the pole to be weightless to keep my back from hurting.

when changing poles i was almost ready to run with no spring after trying to get that damn blowsion spring back in... what a pita. the lowered bracket doesnt make it any more fun... i took a couple chips out of the gelcoat getting the bolt back through.
