the vilder is the same style as the inferno system
except unlike the vilder the inferno is programable in 1/4 degree steps and
50 rpm intervals
it can hot swap between two curves as well
it also has a water controller on it which is programable in 50rpm steps as well

Personally i would go for an inferno and a light weight charging flywheel

In australia they retail for 800
I am working with some one in usa to get them in there and hopefully they will be at a good price
the inferno is not for everyone its a high end ignition system and it needs some who knows what they are doing to dial them in correctly to get the most out of the ignition
Much like am msd and a vilder

Amen Jared.
Aftermarket ignitions need to be set up right. That goes for the programming just as much as for the physical installation.
Especially in saltwater, proper install is critical.

i'm just mad at msd, for a few reasons. price spike being probably the main one.

That and they're keeping me off the water right now. :bs2: You'd think they could fix the product to where they don't die so freaking easy. Thank God I chose to go to a lake I hadn't been to in months. Otherwise I would have been stranded out in the middle of the gator infested St. Johns where I normally ride. Screw MSD. CDI's aren't meant to be a wear part like pistons. They're supposed to last. Especially for $240.

I've heard the Advents are quite good with the SXR's, but for the amount of features and tunability (and customer service) you can't go past the Inferno.

I'm running a jetinetics charging flywheel right now but looking to upgrade.

I'm doing research for the best AND most reliable system. I don't like going to ride and spending more time on the ramp than in the water.

I also want to learn how to set them up properlly like you guys said!

some of these systems I've never even heard of.

so far

#1 MSD TL - http://www.msdpowersports.com/2004_watercraft_ignitions.html

#2 advent - yamaha only??????

#3 vilder

#4 inferno

Where can I find specs or more info on these systems?

I haven't tried it, but when i was searching for a system i also came across Jetinetics - HEAT SYSTEM. They have total loss systems and advanced CDI units.

BAD THING. not too many people run them and you wont be finding too much help here on the boards. and i have no idea about their customer service.

but...i was just adding to your list. help or no help haha

The Jetinetics sucks because it is not programmable.
Might as well go with the WAD system.

I had an Advent in a Superjet for a while but I didn't like it. It would run really rough at low speeds and you would have to crank it bit before it would start. I only tried one of the curves that it came with.

The reason for that was probably a pretty significant advance down low.
The MSD TL can compensate for this for the first 1000 RPM or so - as can any fully programmable ignition.

If MSD would take the time to do the TL right (work on the crapping out bugs) that system would the perfefect. I like the inferno system but if you come out with a TL system wax that would be killer  I personally would rather just run a stock CDI if I had to use a stock or lightened flywheel. If I have to pay 800 for the inferno and anouther 500 for a RAD flywheel I would rather:

a) stick with stock and a lightened stock flywheel
b) go w/ a used MSD TL until I have to replace parts
c) use the $$ to build the motor up more

Ok thank you for that
here is what i am working on
it will use a 760 front cover because it already has the digital front cover

and well the flywheel will look a bit like this
i like the way tbm took the centre section out to make it lighter and so i have used a simillar design
this system will work as a total loss

I have a wooden one but thats all so far

i am still trying to get some one to cut the ring gear
thats the hard part so far

My wife and i were talking and we have decided to buy a cnc mill ourselves as i am having trouble getting machine time
However i am just buying a house and that holding me up at the moment
The mill is about 2-3 mths away

I believe Wax said it was 800 AU$... that would be equivalent to ~615 USD. Or am I on the wrong page here?
