tubbie placement

hey i picked up some tubbies and i am just wondering on the exact placement for a RN. I know whis has been discussed i am and have been reading through the old posts. i have read about people moving them after the first position i am trying to avoid this. any help would be appreciatied. thanks. Mike

where ever you stick them you'll get used to them... Wydopen helped me do mine, and they are a little hack...

I'll be putting them on mine. They make the boat turn amazing in the surf. I rode Ross' GoFast ski and loved it. They make it a great handling boat that really holds true to the wave face.

they're not for my 08, they're for my 01 that i am building for my dad to get out there with us. i still dont know how far forward to put them.. thanks

the tubbies are on and they look good. i used 5200, can someone tell me how that stuff dries? hard and sandable? or rubbery? i smoothed the bead out with my finger and it looks good but i would still like to get them smoother and cleaner later. any suggestions?

also i bought bolts that i can countersink in but they did not go in as far as i would have liked. any suggestions for that? thanks mike

I used fast cure 5200 on my tubbie 3's. It dried kind of rubbery and I cut the runs off with a razor blade.

yup, but overnight some more ozed out and ran a little.
We used long ass stainless deck screws too. There not going anywhere.

i bolted mine in. what did you do make it a smooth finish on the outside or did you just leave it?

thanks. i followed a picture i found on pwc about the placement. i got them where i am supposed to as far as forward and back but i think i made a mistake, i put them bottom most part of them flush with the bottom of the hull. and i just read they should be 1/2 inch up. but then i few guys said make them flush. anyone have anything to say on that? hope i didnt f it up.

Don't stress it at this point.

I like mine flush with the bottom...if you bolted them and used 5200 you will be fine.

ON my sponsons I recommend to put them 1/4 to the bottom .
