tubbies are overrated.

if you rally hate how it is move them forward and/or up..
or just take em off.
Don't get me wrong, I love them in the surf. I did discover that they are slightly different from the front view, I may do some hull trueing over the winter and fair them in nicer. Whats wierd, is they are mostly out of the water when cruizing, could be something else with the hull I didn't notice. I could get them off, but not going to.

I have not tried the Tubbies however I can tell you that installing the WCF version was one of the best hull mods I ever did. The ski handles great on flat, chop and surf.

The WCF side sponsons are smaller than Tubbies, from what I can tell.

Chine walk was the main reason I went with the WCF sponsons instead of the tubbies.

after reading this im a little hesitant installing the louie II sponsoons.

I don't ride pure flat water that often but I do like my wot runs every now and then.

any one have any input on the II's or the louie sponsoons? I got torpedos review but if any one else has some input.

They are fine for the money, but not exactly 100% symetrical either. Work good on the X2.

Its been soo long since i have ridden flat water i can't remember if mine chine walk. I know if the river is choppy they run fine and flat and help cut the the chop. Talsivar rode them on the river and like them enough to get then for the ski he is building.

Greg was hating mine on Saturday, he wants to try yours again before he does the clonies on his boat.

Creative RE Purchasing
Between my re-enforcment and footholds, I have used no where near 1 gallon of epoxy, though I didn't do the bottom inside. And am planning on doing the tray when I get back from my honeymoon before I re turf with 25mm underpad. Too much extra epoxy = brittle???? :dunno: or so I have heard.

I haven't been out on a glassy lake yet with my tubbie I's, but the chin walk has been almost negligable. I only really felt it the first time I was out. I can hit pretty flat water behind the break wall at the harbor and I can feel the walk at mid range a little bit, but at WOT my ski feels the same as before the install.

Worx 205 and stock D cut ride plate.

I installed my tubbie pretty low, not really on purpose, but low none the less. We call 'em "low boy mounts." Maybe installing them low took away some of the chin walk. :dunno:

according to my understanding of blowsion's install intstruction they have to be up from bottom of the hull to meet racing rules.

i put louies on mine, and it was miserable the first two or three rides on flat water.

that was with a d cut stock plate. it was all over the place and threw me off 3 out of 5 times on a wot straight line glass water run.

i switched to a jet dynamics extended plate and lean back in the tray and have no problem doing WOT anymore.

now i get on a superjet without tubbies and i cant turn it. it just wont lay over in the turns like im used to. and its way better in the surf for sure... keeps the nose up a lot more.

But I am anti D-Cut plate for sure... its just too much for me since we ride a few miles to get to the surf on flat water.

I forgot to mention that with the Dcut plate, it was almost impossible to keep up with the "pack", thing is really loose. I'll put it back on for surf, you want it loose, but for river flatwater, a stocker or something else for sure. And after looking, I probably used closer to 3/4 gallon of epoxy total, I did the under the motor, pole, and the firewall, did some other stuff and have some left over.

It's all in getting used to it and compensating without even knowing you're doing it.
When I first put my T2's on, I had a pretty hard time not getting tossed.
Then I got used to it and could ride it WOT on a D-Cut stock rideplate.
Now I cut the hull 2 inches shorter (same plate) and can still go WOT.
