The original post was done by my friend Scott Mckenna. I was so tired after that day and Scotti wanted to make the announcement. I did agree but in looking back it was a poor decision, I should have waited a little longer. Phil Clemmons was the rider of that first motor. It took a couple of years to get to that point. As for the "Budget Power" bull poop phrase, that was never me. That was others grabbing on like leaches. All I wanted was to make the best, period. ----
I had another cylinder design and casting based on the cast Dasa with the ports moved around, different ex-port and other little changes done but getting a casting done well at that time was a difficult endeavor. I did not have the marketing ($$$) behind me, and to be honest, a good rider at that time was most likely sponsored and would/did not give an honest (out loud) review, so not easy. Things cost what they cost to have made, I was a one man show, sometimes I had help usually just me.
I was a racer and all I car about is best performance, so while all were into billet pretty, I was all about performance.
I didn't fail due to financial failure but I was over the jet ski bull poop, it was ruining my life at home and partly did, things like: bad mouthing, stealing of idea's, taking credit for other's efforts and ideas and most of all -----distortion of truth. I see nothing has changed.
I wanted someone that had skill to take over and keep it going and get the foundry more work, so Brian Sizemore had me call Kyle at Dasa, as there was no one else that had the real two stroke jet ski knowledge that I knew that would do the engine justice, Dasa wanted it, but the foundry made it too difficult to make work at that time.
Brian didn't want it to go away either so he took over , --and I have trained Brian in everything I know, not holding back any info from him. I am a two stroke nerd. I love math, physics and theory. I have had the fortune to work with a couple of the smartest people in the jet ski two stroke world back in its hey day. I built my first world finals competing engine back in 1990 and my last 440 superstock won the last Expert National Tour race, thanks John Frankavilla.
I still help Brian with porting ideas and product design. I help no one else-- although I still talk with Zack formally of Power House, great guy and we are the same, oh and Andrew Cesere, best 550 race engine builder out there.
The cylinder is Calvins design but you have to know how that came about. I apparently was the only person capable of understanding what it is, cause if you did and were in the industry you would have known, but you didn't. Some of the little things that make the cylinder work are me, but you won't know that because you weren't there. I worked for almost a year with Calvin as he battled lung cancer. I vistited a couple of times and did some of the mould work myself as he was getting weaker. That cylinder exists because of me and my not quitting when Calvin was dying. Elain was not part of the design, development, she had to deal with loosing Calvin and that's enough for any person. Since I had already delt with a loved one battling cancer I had a connection to both of them.
Brian Sizemore is the best choice for this cylinder/engine. He has me to help and I do, he understands the why's and hows, the other company is just theft of parts and ideas with no real knowledge other than what I told them and it was figured out for them by me. Brian improved some of the issues of my base package, things I wanted to do but once again it was only me and limited budget. As the sport changes so too does cylinder setup, I understand the how's and why and pass this on to Brian. There are other things about the engines but I get to laugh at those things.
I had partners, but I was the IP. So Tony, if you want to spread stories to make me look bad, that is what you will do to make some justification as to why you and some guy should be able to snake a product but it is what it is, but to all those reading this, TONY WAS NOT THERE. He was not part of it, he is just repeating and bending stories. I'm not going to deny all but there are reasons to why things went the way they went. I lost everything because of TPE. It took a big part of me.
My life is so much better now, Brian is a true friend and I can tell you why if face to face.
JSN, your opening statement is meant to take away from my effort and claim I just bought a cylinder from Calvin as if I was just some guy with a check and it could have been you and Tony just as easily. Fuch you, neither of you know enough to really make something as such let alone advance it. Spending hours of work at copying others work is what JSN is all about. The 1200 cylinder is my work, it didn't exist until I made changes to the base cylinder. Bet you two didn't know that! So now you just copy (to a lesser performer) what TPE does.
I don't care what is said after this. I know a bunch of no-nothings will comment as to how I'm wrong or not a good person. F-OFF I'm old and only have so many years left of this planet and I was happy for Brian but now Bull poopters have entered the market, kinda like that Krash quality.
I'm gonna F-OFF now.
