titling aftermarket hulls?

Titling boats in Texas pretty much sucks. I bought an 05 Wammer and I am not sure how Texas Parks and Wildlife is going to react. I bought it used, not directly from Wamiltons. The really isn't a HIN number, just a serial number.

I have a bill of sale from Kansas, but Texas wants proof of registration from Kansas too, and I don't think it was ever registered. Any ideas what I should do?

if memory serves - KS is an easy state to get a registration number. Go ahead and pay the registration up there - then take that paperwork into TPWD and do the transfer

I inquired once about titling a "homemade" ski here - and was basically told that it would be inspected, and that if it appeared to be a commercially made ski, that it would not be allowed to be title as homemade and that I may face confiscation if the inspector thought there was a chance it was stolen.

In Michigan I just had to fill out a form saying I made it. And if I had purchased it... they'd want to see a Bill of Sale so they could charge me sales tax on it.

If you make it yourself you have to show a receipt for the materials so to prove you paid taxes on it.
