tips on going from Kawi rider to SJ rider

prior to buying a squarenose i've always riden kawasaki standups (mainly a 550sx and 650sx). the times i've ridden superjets in previous summers i haven't liked it at all. because of the overwhelming suggestions to switch from kawasaki to a superjet i've done so.

so now i'm looking for suggestions or tips in my re-learning of how to ride a standup from a kawasaki standup to a superjet.

any help that can be given would be well appreciated.

thank you.

You'll be fine. You might fly off the ski in a turn if you're not careful because the SJ requires less leaning than you're used to but if you can ride 550's and 650's...you'll pick it up fast. I got slung off the outside once because my 750 requires so much lean to turn.

I came from a long time Kawi background and went to a superjet also. Super Jets like to be turned flat (Little to no lean). My advice is Just ride it. The first half hour you won't like it, the next few days you'll like the challenge of getting "used to" it and after about two weeks of riding it you'll wonder why you ever rode a Kawi in the first place. BTW Tubbies make SJ's lean turn like a kawi also. If you ride surf use with a D cut plate.

my observation from going from kawi to yami.....

kawis require more rider input, than steering, while in a turn.

with an SJ, you steer, then lean where the ski tells you to lean, unless you want to eat water.

There is "NO LEARNING CURVE" going from those old turds to a real ski!! Now your ski will do and go where you want it to.:notworthy:
