Tinnitus?

Can it really be this bad? Or do I have a brain tumor?

How can my ear generate a false tone this loud for this long?

I am ready to shoot PB Blaster in it......nothing else works.

Sanity is leaving my body.

Since one of our last big wave days......I think......but not sure. So a month maybe month and a half.

It has gotten SOOOO much more intense in the last 2 weeks.

I will give back every day I have ever ridden a jetski if that is what caused it.

I have a ENT appt. on the 16th but man that feels like eternity right now.

If water did this I will never ride without ear plugs again......and I really don't want to wear them....but O M G!

I've had very loud ringing in both ears for a long time now. For me, it's from playing in a metal band - practicing in a small room without earplugs.

unfortunately I have never been able to get rid of it... just got used to it always being there.

I don't know for sure yet Slutty.

My general Doc saw nothing. So now I have the referral to a ENT.

Man I have a whole new respect for people dealing with this. I would HONESTLY rather be deaf that hear this the rest of my life.

I used to sit in front of 15" speakers jamming Metallica for hours....but that was like in 1988.........and I have never had a problem until recently.

I am sooo tempted to squirt PB in my ear........what can happen?

normal doctor might not know what he's looking for... ENT will get to the bottom of it..

that sounds like acute damage to the ear drum. i have ringing pretty bad from working with loud machinery when i was younger and not wearing earplugs, and also from shooting trap without them. it sucks pretty bad but i guess either i got used to it or mine isn't as bad as yours. i haven't been able to sleep in a completely quiet room since it started though, have to have a fan running for some background noise.

anyway good luck, hopefully they can get it fixed right up.

Quote from wikipedia:

Tinnitus is not a disease but a symptom resulting from a range of underlying causes that can include ear infections, foreign objects or wax in the ear, nose allergies that prevent (or induce) fluid drain and cause wax build-up. Tinnitus can also be caused by natural hearing impairment (as in aging) and as a side-effect of some medications. However, the most common cause for tinnitus is noise-induced hearing loss.

Sound familiar at all?

I wouldn't wish this on Muslim Extremists.

I pulled that quote for this tidbit:

It couldn't be the high pitched whine from all the old monitors finally caused you to snap?

Could it? :clown:
