The reason for dual cooling

I have been doing some debuggin on my X2 and found I had one of two clogged fitings on the exhaust manifold. It was cloggged air tight. Good thing I run two seperate feeds off the pump to the manifold or it would have gotten a little warm. Who knows how long it has been running on one but that is why I like having two cooling feeds to the motor.

I installed these strainers from Mcmaster. I put one on each incoming line and tied wrapped them to my cylinder. I had got rocks from Seaside stuck in my cooling lines several times on a single day last summer. I had enough of chasing problems.

Those are nice too; do they have a mounting bracket attached to the bottom?

I run a single cooling line and mounted mine on top of the coupler cover.

No, unfortunately they don't have a bracket. That's why I had to tie wrap them to the cylinder. I couldn't find much of a place to mount them. I'll see how well they hold up this year. So far on my first two rides, things look promising.

Do any of you guys run those strainers and ride a beach break? I was wondering if they clog super fast if you are running up the beach. I would love a strainer with holes just a little smaller than the 90 degree fiting orfice. Then it would still be able to pass right through the motor and strainer and back to the ocean unles it was really chunky.

The strainers that I showed earlier in the posts have different size strainer inserts that you can run. I believe they come standard with a 20 x 20 mesh screen. The screen sizes run 20 x 20, 40 x 36, 50 x 50, or 80 x 80 mesh.
Look on Mcmaster.com on page 332. I believe I got the low profile strainers as opposed to the standard ones. I have only ridden two times and the sand doesn't get caught up in it. The trick with riding on the beach is to be sure you shut the ski off before you physically beach the ski.

Edit: Page 328 on Mcmaster.com shows how the screen size is determined and what size particle can pass through it.
