The Official Waterdawg Kustomz Technical Thread

i got a hood kit with bracket
the bolts for mounting the bracket were too long, even with my reinforcement and super thick backing plate. i had to cut almost a half inch off the bolts.
the nose peice wouldnt fit on over the pole bolt, had to grind down some fiberglass to get it to clear. one of the through holes for mounting was off slightly.

didnt realize you need to mount the pole in the braket before bolting it down.
the finish of the gelcoat is pretty rough and needs buffing, but i dont care and will probly leave it as is.
the slot for the pole spring is too far from center making it VERY difficult to get the spring on. you gotta stretch the spring longways to get it to fit.
the breather tubes are too long i cut maybe 2 inches off each one.

i think thats it...

the bolts are easy...they are availible at ace hardware, one nice thing about all the WDK stuff..

I had to grind my diablo nosepiece as well...just a bit though..

good tip on the spring and evey breather tube I havec ever seen has been a different length..they must just eyeball them and not measure precisely for those..

stainless bolts arent very common unless your right near the ocean. regardless i was expecting to need longer bolts, not shorter ones..

the only way to stretch it is pry. maybe jam some flathead screwdrivers in the coil to open it up?

Workin too much
I buy almost all my fastners from fastenall and the have all the different thread pitches and alloys/ grades I need. Jeff has always been very good about making sure my stuff gets to me quickly and is very willing to answer any questions I ask him.

I purchased Sluts used water dog hood, the construction is good.
But I did notice he needs to work on his gel coat process and there were a couple voids under the gel coat but all in all a good deal at $400 if you get his special. I chose to get it off slut though because I know how WDK shipping can be and I wanted it this winter.

I would give my lefty for a 927cc ENVY. I would give my righty and my lefty for a 1200cc anything. WDK is THE innovator.

have you tried opening it up on a lake yet, heard it was really twichy at top speed.

ok, here's my impression of the REV...

I rode it 2x on the lake for a water test, then to daytona..........

first off.....the REV hull floats VERY light in the water....Im running a full wetjet setup and the motor felt as strong as my old magoo ported 701 in my supertank..

at high speeds the boat is twitchy, kinda like riding a B1 at WOT....It will catch a chine, start to fall to the side and there's no recovery...the boat REALLY likes to have both feet right along the centerline of the tray....Im going to switch this boat to dual straps and see how that works....

the ass end is LIGHT! extremely flickable....Riding it up a wave to slash the lip is goiing to be a breeze once I get a bit more comfortable on a full size boat again (been riding an FX for almost a year solid)..and the front end does NOT want to pearl/duckdive due to the "integrated tubbies"...the REV hull is 2" wider than a SJ...

the REV stomps all over a SJ in cornering......I think it will contend with an SXR all day long with a longer pole (mine is -7.5")....You can lay it down on the side just like an SXR and it will throw as many G's as your motor will rev out...In fact, the first couple of times I went to do a top turn the hull hooked and compressed my knees right to the tray (kinda like railing a spring seat XP, or a HX)

Moral of the story....When you ride a REV..it must be ridden AGGRESSIVELY.....almost like the last ride of your life...

The harder you ride it, the better it handles....without a doubt

Jeff tells me it handles completely different once you drop the 66e in it.....I cant wait to try out the difference!

He is going to make me a pipe that will fit both the REV and the F1pro :Banane26::cool2:

I can't wait to try it out!!!!!! Been dying to ride one for over a year.

you cant ride it until I see a note from your doc :bad3:

Its a little different, but I like it alot!!!!!!!!! I have a feeling it will sit once the F1 is finished though...

yeah... you and me both.. I plan on riding after I see the Neuro Sergeon and get his approval to do non impact sports.. I plan on surfriding for the rest of the year till I am solid.
