I'm trying to put together some ideas for the winter, I'm going to try the D cut ride plate as I just bought another stocker one on ebay. Also bought an unused stock head that I'm going to shave and bump up the compression on. Any feedback on these would be appreciated.

Group K just told me to check my peak RPM's and that I should be around 72-7300, if not to adjust my pitch on the impeller to get it there. Also said I should also remove the timing advance hook up that FP suggests to use. They claim that with cutting my head that it will probably detonate even in the surf. They told me that with stock timing and increased compression and checking the impeller pitch to reach the suggested R's that it will hit much harder than it does now, with the advanced timing. Does all of this sound correct?

I agree with Group K's rpm numbers.
What prop are you running now?
Group K does not like the timing advance because you can have deto. See when using the jumper you get the good low rpm advance but it also advances it up top which can cause deto. an Aftermarket CDI gives the low end advance but retards timing up top to avoid deto.

I'm running the Solas 13/21 5mm cut back prop from Impros. I have been very hesitant to change the CDI because of all the problems I keep hearing about. Looks like it's time to order a tach.

Group K is always trying to get peak RPM's (top end). I think he gives great advice, but it is geared towards racing and top end speed. He made some suggestions on my friends ski that killed his bottom end, but gave him great top end. (not what he wanted at all) I guess it depends on what you are looking for.

My 03 doesn't have the jumper, but my flywheel advances the timing. I also bumped my compression up to 170, but had no deto at all. I just gotta quit blowing crank bearings.

Cool, I will take anything they say under advisement. No one else has told me what he has so....
I definitely don't want top end!

Ok, someone on here is probably going to think I'm nuts, but I have to get this thing to go around this year. I was going to buy a SJ, but I know this ski can BR or bust! :Banane01:
Since I'm not going to Daytona, which sucks by the way :bs2: I decided to bury my sorrows in a new CDI-9R ignition and Skat Trak trim set up!!!!

I bought the Skat Trak trim because the nozzle is supposedly longer and will hopefully give me more ability to turn also. At least according to them. I was wondering if I should just buy the whole Skat Trak pump, but I was up in the air, so I just bought the trim.

Just drilled out the rear upper pump gusset for the tilt cable set up. It looks like it is going to work pretty good! I went 82mm venturi and 85mm steering nozzle. Hopefully I'll notice an improvement on set up wakes and get more turning control with the 2" longer nozzle. Stock was 78mm and 85mm.

Nice, it's in the mail!!!!

I'll swap you the ignition for a 1000cc motor and a new lightweight hull.

Started putting my pump back together last night. I bought the R&D pump cone and siliconed it in. Impros hooked me up! They checked my pump out, and gave me a great deal on the R&D. Pump is ready to go back in I just need some weather over 10 deg!!! I also finally got the lowdown on the igniter and the 9 settings.

Finally got the new custom made bilge bracket in. The new igniter from Mitsuibishi was not fun to install, but hopefully it will work great. Also machined up the tube for tightening up the single bolt on the handle pole, while still using the HD aftermarket spring!
