Thanks Yamaslut, I wish I was going to the slam but it's just too far, Skywalker and I pulled a 52 hour drive (round trip) to build/pickup this and I'm not ready to get in the truck again for a while. I do plan on hitting a freeride event before the end of the season.

We should all keep in touch, I may just get the itch to make the drive to the Slam. If I do, you guys could drive to Denver and we could go from here. I'd imagine we'd have 2-3 fro Colorado that might want to go.

Hijack now over

I can't wait to see that baby being leaned over at the start of its first roll attempt, its gonna be a crazy site. I'm guessing that there will be a new king at the lake. Wonder how high it will fly? My guess is very high, camera is gonna be out, can't wait.

And Royal, I got a ski to sell ya, but you have to come get it.........

Well I got a chance to ride the red rocket last night....and wholy poop the light weight hull and the Bang when you pull the throttle very cool and very fun , its almost like learning to ride all over again ....:drive:

The ski is so much better looking in person. Nice build!!!
now charge the battery and turf that baby !

very very nice.....almost unbelievable that they can make a hull that weighs so little. i am envious.

The hull in my avatar is not mine it's jeff's. That one weighed 56lbs bare with hood. Total weight with 5mm lamey, oem pump, no waterbox, was 238lbs. My hull is 10lbs heavier plus the extra weight of my drivetrain. its very hard to estimate because little things add up quickly, I'll let you know. I can tell you it feels very light, lighter than I'm used to.

Is that hull designed for flatwater only, or is it plenty strong for surf abuse at the hands of a Pancaker or Slut?:Banane09:

i'm not positive but i think it's stronger than most if not all surf hulls, because it's prepreg. i'm pretty sure there aren't very many prepregs out there.

Thats what Jeff was saying. He said it is the only ski that has just pulled so hard he just could not hold onto it. That is awesome. Jeff is a very inovative guy and that motor is going to start dominating freestyle.

How is that motor going to dominate freestyle? You cant bolt it into anything but an x-jet unless you custom fab a bedplate.
And we all know about trying to get an xjet.

For once, I'll have to agree with you on this point. The AM hull thing has been hashed out already and the WD hull would not be allowed to compete (except maybe in a regional event).

I don't see why not. AFAIK (And that's not much) pre-preg is a lamination/layup technique, not necessarily specific to CF.

I believe I'd heard from a couple of folks that these new WDK hulls were Glass.

that quote that jeff gave me was for a glass one. this is probably glass too. arguably, the right kind of glass is just as strong if not stronger than carbon fiber (has some flex to it) the problem has been that fiberglass is much heavier than carbon. with prepreg, it brings the weight down drastically because it uses MUCH less resin, so weight is no longer an issue if you use fiberglass.

as for competing on an x-jet, i'm sure you can't a worlds but my promotor here (region 6) gave me the go ahead to compete on my hull in pro. unfortunately i've had too many injuries/motor problems to do that this year.
