Any test ride today? I was in AC and drove over to Brig to check the spot out. Looked REAL REAL fun in the inlet today. I was pissed I didnt have my ski with me. Some mackers out there, oceanside.

2nd ride went alot better. I was comfortable enough with the handling to play in some choppy surf. Ski floats and rides a little higher than befor but does'nt porpise as bad. It also rides with the nose lower the my last setup but does'nt nose dive as hard. Slow speed it's really fun. Staying in the steep sections of the wave I was turning tighter and coming in on steeper angles. Started having handling issues at mid speed and up or when leaning back. It felt and rolls like the nose without the bondrail. I'm thinking I need to replace more of it to the rear.Once I got going a little faster and more of the ski got out of the water it became a handfull. I could easily feel where my bondrail ends when coming out of turns leaning back. Turn in feels good, set rail lean in & roll on gass, still feels good. Gas on and lean back and as soon as my weight gets on the end on the bondrails and back the tail starts droping and pushing the nose in the opposite direction I'm leaning. It's getting there.

Some vid of Wavehog trying it out having to fumble around my straps.

Sweet fox! And killer feedback. It looked like it was connecting good as far as that low speed shredding.

It hooked up when need but with the ski floating/riding a little higher it was easy to get the pump out of the water. I was motoring down some swells in the inlet leaning with all my weight over the nose and unhooking the pump. It felt like doing burnouts on a street bike.

Our beach is loaded with those foxes. There is a family of @5 in that spot I was sitting that were pups in the beginning of the season.

Kewl build, its nice to see some having the balls to try something different, pushing the envelope.

I'd like to try that 300 of yours :Banane35:

Made a sketch of what I'm thinking my issues are.(1) Add more to bondrail. (2+3) Leaning back when landing or coming out of turns the ski wants to pitch the nose quick. I spent some time carving around while looking back to watch what was happening. I noticed that when coming off the bondrail in turns the tail would drop & pitch the nose. I also saw that the square shaped sides of the hull would get a good push from the outside rail. Gonna start by adding more bondrail and see how that works. I'm wondering what a scallop in the side of the hull would do to soften it up and not catch as much. I'll start galssing again later, going to the beach:fest30:

here's the 3rd ride in some chop. The boat is ridable and fun in areas. If I keep my weight in the middle and keep it flat it handles good. Gets weird when leaning back- tail drops, nose pops and lose stability. Still needs some refining.

Thanks Wavehog for the vid & Dslicker for the company:cheer2:

Hey Joe what are your latest thoughts on your build?

I like it so far. My main interest is on slow speed handling. It's loose and flickable at slow speeds which makes it feel like a lighter boat. I have'nt mentioned how qucik it now steers. I can rollercoaster down the line of a wave with little steering. I can set up for turns and have it start to rotate by moving my weight around. If I use all my steering it spins me around.

I plan on extending the bondrail around the tail. I can feel where it's missing when riding. My last setup had the bondrails cut off the back but still had a 1in lip from the top being bigger than the bottom. I've realized that it had the same effect minimized.

Extended bondrail around the tail. Made a huge difference and now I can lean back and not have the nose pop out of the water. It's fun and I'm liking how it's working for now....

Thanks wavehog and flash-fx for the vid

Nice rainy day, wind gusts @ 40. Washing machine beach break. Landing reenrys in 6in. It was a good day:mischievous:

You've got some mad glassing skills man, not to mention your riding! Freakin awesome. I love the boat, looks killer. Wish I could fab glass like that. Great job bro!!

Looks like it's getting close to cooked.......you seem a lot more confortable than when I last saw it. Should've given me a ring........I had cabin fever and would've ventured out with ya!

I stayed in the garage and played fiberglass just for something to do.
