thats what I am planning on doing to. I am gonna sand and bondo tonight. Then I'm gonna get my buddy to spary for me, he has done a couple of Street Bikes, so I think it will be alright. I'm only going to go white, so it shouldn't be that hard. Plus I don't care if its not perfect.

DJ, its easy to do, but it just takes time to get the steering cable mount correct. Ive got it close, but my cable goes up too high, and comes down too low, and im afraid it will snap at such a steep angle.

I have all of the parts to convert. Pole, Pad with brand new apdesigns cover, new bushings to fit, new cable mount, new -1 blowsion sxr/sj turnplate $300+shiping takes it. All new except the pole, off of a 96 SJ. white. Needs paint. the $300 covers my expenses only, im just lookin to get my money back

its not far from done, looks cool, but i just wanna get out and ride

So I just ran into major problems also, and I haven't even tried the pole on my ski. I just got all my conversion parts from blowsion today. My buddy that has a SJ with stock pole was there. We got the UMI system on the pole. But tried to put on the chin pad (Blowsion Carbon Fiber) and it woudn't fit. Took off his stock chin pad and it would.

So we place my pole over his as in the pictures and saw the differnce. For one, the pole is about two inches shorter. Two, the whole top metal unit is different than his 98 SJ. Take a look at the picture, its not the greatest, but you can see the differnce. Remember how I said my steering stop was molded into the top unit?

So do you think my pole is from an FX-1? Seems like the only answer. This pole would be perfect for someone that wants to shorten their stock pole. I'm too short and the one inch that a stock SJ pole would be shorter would be perfect.

Anybody want to trade handle poles? Now I don't know what to do. Now just save up for another stock SJ pole, a UMI aluminum pole, or maybe and X-Metal.

I'll think about it... What problems are you still having with the steering cable. You said it is either moving too far high or too low. What do you mean by that? Is it something that removing more foam from the inside would alleviate? What do you think could be done to fix it?

my steering cable brcket that i made, almost identical to the umi one, sets the steering cable up too high, then it comes down at too harsh of an angle to the steering knuckle on the turn plate. Its not hard to fix, but I wanna go out and ride and I dont feel like messin with it anymore.

The foam is dug out. Its nto too hard of a fix at all. The pole already has the aluminum angle wedled into it to resemble the other side. I also ground it down and made it clean.

do you know the screen name of the guy you posted the picture of the SXR with the camo chicks? I want to PM him and ask him if he used a different steering cable or modified his pole

ox you have a fx1 pole. The pole swap can be alittle tricky. Take your time and make sure the steering cable is mounted correctly and you have full travel each way with the nozzle.

Man went out on my buddies RN superjet with a b pipe and that thing is awsome. First time it has been running since he got it last week. Had to replace the coupler from the head to the chamber. Now I'm thinking about abondoning the SXR build up and getting an SJ. Wanna keep my ski but not gonna put any more money into either.

Pics if these help?

I am currently going threw the same conversion, after a so-called friend broke my stock pole, I talked to John at blowsion and he sent me some pics to help out. I hope they give you some insight on how to set yours up.
