What is the stock SJ ignition curve and what is the MSD enhancer ignition curve. been searching MSD, PWCtoday, and of course, THE X with no success....

To be honest, I didnt really notice any difference switching from a Pro-tec modified(rev limiter) to a Enhancer.

I had a Riva billet flywheel and enhancer on ported 701 w/ bpipe and twin 44's. I removed the flywheel and replaced w/ stocker and replaced Enhancer w/ modded stock CDI. HUGE difference. Not sure if it was flywheel or Enhancer or combo or what.

That was 95% flywheel, 3% imagination, and 2% Enhancer. :haha:

Seriously though, the vast majority of that perceived difference came from the Flywheel.

If the graph is correct, it would leave me to believe the Kawi ignitions are way conservative, and can easily be bumped 3-4 degrees.

This is one of the reasons the Enhancer is just a so, so CDI! Just look at what you get from this curve graph... shows about 22 degrees when timing comes to full advance at 1700-1800 RPM's and starts the retard at about 4000 RPM's (not very defined) and then ONLY gives you 2 maybe 3 degrees of retard! This is what hurts the performance of the Enhancer. (They should have made it like 7-8 degrees and would have been a 'STAR' CDI replacement!) MSD TL and Vilders CDI's can be programmed with a lot more curve and retard rate to really be able to run a LOT of compression for freestyle engines on pump gas which ='s a lot more HP especially right off idle!

P.S I'm referring to the Superjet CDI's.

Yup....Chuckie knows what he's talking about.

That's the great thing about full programmability - I can run purdy good compression on pumpgas, and get nice bottom end in part due to hefty advance on the bottom. I take it away on top, and can ride WOT all day long.

Just what we spoke about yesterday Chuck!

yup.....I actually prefer the feel of a T wheel.....I dont like the immediate braking effect the lighter flywheels have..

i notice that my boat feels a little stronger with the MSD E.....but hey, at least it looks cool
