Is there anything I can wrap around the connection that may help reduse voltage loss??

I was thinking about taking these steps:

1.) connect the two wires with a crimp connector
2.) rub some Dielectric grease around the connector/connection
3.) put 3 heat shrink wrapes around it
4.) another thin layer of the Dielectric grease
5.) then some thick tubeing that fits snug around everthingI mentioned above(like fuel line tubeing with bigger inside diameter)

I dont know how any voltage could get out of that.

Any ways to improve upon this???

I can answer my own question now, we just installed it and the pin is about 1-1/8" deep, total cavity is around 1.5 inches. The Moroso wire is a tad fatter so getting the grommits on took some lube, and we had to make sure the holes were cleaned out good. Used 1211 for the seal when installing, this looks like really nice wire. 1.69/ft.

Look: I've done this before and thought I'd sealed it up.
It worked for a while, but in the end it was a wasted effort.

Go ahead and do it. You seem to have your mind set to it.
Either it will work or it won't.

Listen to what people are telling you and do not splice the wire.

You need to make one of these tools.

I was going to chime in about your tool but you beat me to it.

I can post a pic of the spike on a Kawasaki 1100 tripple coil. I accidently pulled the wire off of one once. The wires are epoxied in place.

Spliced my wires on my Superjet 650 and it seems to have worked great! started and ran great! This summer will be the true test! Should work cause the crappy Napa wires worked without problems!

The coil in my super Jet is newer! My FX-1 coil is the original so I figured If i was going to replace one it should be the FX-1!!

is this the same ski that had the messed up MSD wire from your other post?

look dickdiggler, just like that last thread of yours we are giving you the best advice you could use trust me...now if you have your mind so set on splicing them then do it...stop asking questions and do it but to fill you in on some info that you obviously dont know and wont listen to us...

Electrical Current doesnt travel through the middle of wire, it travels on the outside, which is why with higher voltages thicker wire is better because it can handle more. Now think about that and how your splicing and inadequate Insulation is going to mess up how the Electrical Current is going to travel though that wire...it will add resistance and with resistance comes heat...now you might get lucky and it not be enough to melt all that bull******** your going to put around the wire but personally i think it will.

Just come to terms with the fact that you own ski's which means you are going to fork out $$ and along with your ********ty idea for your motor bedplate this is one of those things that needs to be fixed right or your going to end up in the middle of the lake with a dead ski and you can blame it all on the spliced wires...hell for all you know you might not insulate it well enough and the wire will arc and catch your whole ski on fire, you ever see what happens when a sealed engine compartment like on a ski catches on fire?! IT BLOWS UP!!

So do it or dont do it...but stop wasting our time and advice.
