Did you pull any subs? I blacked out the first time I pulled a sub in that cold water. It gives a new meaning to the term "brainfreeze". I could only do them every few minutes or risk blacking out again.

Yeah it's a real weird feeling, like a brainfreeze on the outside of your skin. I've never come close to blacking out or anything, but it is damn cold on your bare skin.

I find that it hurts most to have that water hit the top of my head.
So I now wear a tourcoat with the hood over my head, and put a helmet on over that.
Works like a charm.
I did subs, stabs, and other flatwater sissy shenanigans for hours.

haha i love the flatwater shenanigans!! as long as i wear my helmet im ok in the cold, but without it, it gets to the head real fast. especially with the hair, once its soaked i freeze without some cover.

There's hardly anyone else out on the water this early in the year. Nice for practicing setup wakes.

I miss chasing boats, though. Chasing ducks gets old. :haha:

If you can promise me big boats, I am in.
Last summer we hit 2 big 40 footers heading home in open water that were running side by side, the converging wake had about 8 feet of drop if you came over it.....
