So what does your Wally world stock now? No more attwoods

I was at my local wal mart collecting some camping gear and i strolled over to the bilge section. They now longer carry the Attwood 500 V series pump that we are all accustom to. They only one they now carry is the new Tsunami replaceable cartridge series. Before the V series costs $10.41 at my local wal mart and this new Tsunami costs $17.50. I asked the guy in that section and he said if there is no tag for it on the wall (which there wasn't) that they would most likely not carry the V series any longer.

Needless to say I was kinda bummed.

Has anybody used this new series yet? I wonder what its rep will become. It is just as tall as the V series, so there won't be fitment issue that I can for see, but there is a lot less surface area on the bottom to glue it to the bottom of the hull. They do have a 800gph pump that is not very much taller. It looks like it might fit also.

I noticed that too, it sucks....
Luckily I got the last two at my store on clearance for $5 each.

I go thru a couple of those $10 pumps every year ( my fault for crappy wiring, and sucking up rocks and zipties...)

At one point I had three on the shelf, but they have been used.

i should start keeping the receipts so I can send them back under warranty.

they are more expensive than the old V500... but someone needs to test the new one out and see how it does. I also don't like that there is way less surface area on the bottom for adhering it to the hull.

the new tsunami 500 appeared to be no taller than the V500 to me.

When it breaks, go pony up another $15 for a new one. Consider it scheduled maintenance.

the whole thing is that it will be hard to find the cheaper of the two. Would you rather pay more for a lesser quality air filter on your vehicle or pay less for a better one???? hmmm i wonder?
