Make sure you get stainless posts for the external battery posts. I know at one point they were not stainless and rust quick.I'm thinking this winter of doing all JSS ebox stuff: external battery posts, external quick stator disconnect, and John is presently re manufacturing my start/stop switch and ebox wiring harness.

It could have been carbon steel bolts on his posts that were rusting and the rust ran onto the stainless because they have been stainless for the past couple of years as far as I know.
Also, if there is any arcing (which is possible) spark is the most potent oxidizer and can rust any iron content in the stainless (even though it is only trace).
Use plenty of dielectric grease on those external posts (to prevent arcing) and reapply mid-season and they will serve you well.
GREASE IS CHEAP! :naughty:
Bah. Just use bearing grease.
