Ask Superramjet about his shortened Octane. He likes it best of all the boats he's built.

Seeing how the FS-1 and Q8 are wide and short, I'd say the pro's would recommend the shorter octane as well.

I like my octane very much, however I've grown very fond of my friend's eme 1000 that is mainly a shortened sxr bottom. rmbc's regular length lightweight octane is a blast also, it rides much different than mine, better for all around rec riding, mine is very nose light and harder to jump without the nose going straight up. My next build is a 3" shorter sxr bottom.

but back to the question, i'd go with the octane, superjets are dying.

Thanks i was leading twards the octane just cause it was different anyway and from previous superjets i know what you mean about them being nose high.i really like a boat that rides with the nose up it makes it more aggerssive but hood tricks and suff are difficult.so now its do i keep it std legnth and move th motor back or only shorten it 2 in?move the pole forward ect?

they are MUCH wider

Much wider then what ski? The fs-1 looked to me to be same width as a superjet but with extra wide bumpers on the side? The eme I thought seemed to be in between a superjet and octane in width. I could be wrong though, would be nice to have actual length and width specs on both.
