Why are you going to dial in with a single carb and then change over to dual carbs? Why don't you just tune it one time. I don't see the benefit there... You have the dual carbs already... just use them...

ok vumad why did you decide to run a single carb over your dual carb setup?

It was cost effective. I sold my duals for triple what i could have gotten for my single. My friends also run Mikuni. It's easier for them to help me tune, and they already have parts. I don't have to buy any jets except the one that works best because they already have al the sizes for me to try. Performance had little to do with the decision. I didn't feel I would loose or gain much power b/t dual 38's and a single 44. If I had dual 44's vs a single 46 I may have given it more thought.

But... mostly it was more cost effective.

I didn't know you sold your duals . But I have to tune in carbs either way and it is faster to dial in a single carb than it is to do dual carbs and with X-2s being space limited it sucks changing out jets on dual carbs. You also have to keep them syncronized . This way I can spend more time riding and less time dialing in carbs .When the ski is ready for final assembly the duals may go in anyway. Its the fact that I have a choice. Remmember this build isn't over yet and nothing is set in stone until its done.

That's my point. A single carb is faster to tune but a waste of time if you're going to take it off and tune the duals. Just start with the dual carbs...

Hey Crab. You should pay all of my expenses to Daytona and I'll let you ride my ski for 5 mins. That's about how long it will run before it ingests water! :banghead:

Well I will be sending my engine to Chuck at team scream within the next week or so .
Here is what is on the list of things to be done:
cylinders being ported for freestyle
port maching with ext manafold
head modifications
cases being machined for 650 stator
flywheel lightening
I will be doing some work on the hull also and hope to be putting tubbies on soon but it will depend on what my end bill is at the machine shop.

well I have been reading up on the up trim system on the X-2 . After seeing alot of complicated setups I started thinking that a more simple solution may exist . By using the handle bar setup for drop nozzels to bypass the whole turn knob assy altogether and to pull the trim cable to the back of the ski . I will have pics soon so that everyone can see what I am talking about. hopefully it works.

well I finaly took the engine over to Chuck at team scream. As far as the trim goes I am trying different grab levers to see which one will work best. So far the best working one yet is one off of a bmx type of bike . I don't know if the cable will be strong enough though but for right know it will do. I will post some pics as soon as I have got the system together.

Two of the trim levers I tried. The second picture show the rest of the setup that needs to be intergrated into the trim. The yellow trim handle is the one I am sticking with right now.

Yes I know there is still some stuff missing on the trim . I am still working on that. I will be using the coffman ext untill by some miracle I find a used B-pipe to put on or I have the money to buy one new.

OK here are some more pics of the trim system. I will call this one the mark 1
I am sure there will be refinements to this system. Hopefully this will answer some peoples questions about my setup.
