ok think about it like this.I figured it would be more like a cumulative effect I guess.
You block off the hood holes, but still have a free flowing air system(flame arrestors/screens/etc) you may get away with it.
the order of restriction for the motor is hood, f/a, carb, intake.
you have to deal with these from first to last. example; you can have massive carbs but if your f/a is smaller whats the point in having massive carbs? same applys for the hood.
doesnt matter how good it flows if theres nothing there to flow!
