Kawi 140 pump is in.... now where do I find a toploader/scoopgrate?
Prop is unknown pitch, but it was pushing the 650sx it was in over 50 mph... eventually I will want to prolly go down in pitch. I might have access to 4-5 different props, but I am not ready to scrape silicone yet... I need more trigger timeWhat prop are you running?
Check the BS ads, you'll find one if you dig hard enough.
What did the front sponsons do for the ski?
What difference did the pump conversion make?
With footholds do you ride with both feet in the back of the ski? Wouldn't that make it porpoise a lot?
I've only ridden mine 6 times so I'm looking for your real world opinions of each mod.
Thanks and congratulations on all of the mods.
With you being a new rider, your better off leaving it stock. Just ride the piss out of it.
I disagree. Every new mod comes with it's own new learning curve. If you are sure you will stay on FX-1 then mod the crap out of it. I don't think you have to suffer through crazy cavitation and "sucks in surf" syndrome- just mod the pump immediately! All you learn w/ a 122 mm pump is that you don't like it! Sponsons are great! They make hardcore turning much more controlled. As for feetholds... the FX-1 tray is smaller than most so use caution when deciding which to run. Look for something that GAINS tray real estate rather than one that uses it up.( ala"special fx" and many other's pix right here on the X ):noevil:
You're right! mods are for the "off season!"All these mods require down time-- right now is not wrenching season. Ride the ski, mod later.
Theres an off season??
Im considering buying a wetsuit and looking for another fx1 hull so i can wrench and ride anytime!
