Yea but the white is only small deposites from the anode, nothing to worry about its doing its job.
Never used any other products and have never had any problems as long as you flush often.

And what do y'alls water jackets look like inside? Mine have always looked brand new everytime I pull off my head.

seriously... a couple drop of soap will acheive the same effect as salt away... No surfriders I know use it. I always flush after each ride (except when I'm doing a weekend like this) My water jackets are clear too...

I don't use a zinc anode either... no need for that if you always flush

Even that is a bit of a red herring. I don't EVER flush. Well, that's not true, if I'm going to put a ski away for more than say, a week or two, I'll flush to let the motor get up to temp and burn off any remaining moisture in the cases. Other than that, I fire it up and blow out the water.

If I pull the head, all looks pretty damn good still.

I seriously don't think salt water is that bad... its the worst on electronics... engine parts... no effect

salt water definitely DESTROYS electronics. Without a doubt. There is also definitely an effect on bolts and various fastners, which is where the engine rinse, di-electric grease, and wd-40 come in.

I use the soap trick on occaision.......Here's my routine:

rinse down motor compartment
rinse out pump (usually full of sand/coquina)
plug hose into pisser--run for 3-5 mins--switch pisser---sometimes longer if I feel like pissing off the neighbors
rev up a few times
spray down motor with silly-cone spray

vaccumm out excess water

A dry boat is a happy boat!

You should be checked for OCD. Anyone who vaccuumed their boat out is a bit over the top IMO. Oh, PS, a member of this forum burned down his house doing that. Make sure you don't have any fuel leaks.

no need to be checked. its certifiable. but in my line of work, thats a good thing

besides, I keep my boats inside and dont like to look in there and see a puddle of water!

alright guys, say it with me O - C - D.

don't you guys have scuppers, or bilge pumps? Tilt the ski on it's arse, turn on the bilge pump. done. This vaccuuming stuff really kind of creeps me out.

I have both; Its easier with my bad back to just grab my shop vac that is two feet away from my ski than to lift the front end of the trailer up and let all the water drain out. And you know those stupid Rule bilges they don't get much out when the water level is getting low. Stupid air locking.
