Stock superjet pole and pad....

So yesterday I go for a huge sub, and when I come back up,
my chinpad is floating in the water.

Broke the front tab loose, and ripped the inserts right out of the plastic.
Inserts are still firmly bolted to the pole.

As a quick fix, I have it duct taped to the pole (Team Ugly version 2.0 in the works).

Just wondering what others have done to theirs (besides the
$$$ route of buying a carbon fiber one).

I would like to do something cheap to get me through the season
but not look terrible. Plus, that stock pad weighs like 15lbs cause
it is completely waterlogged, so I wouldn't mind stripping it down
and replacing the foam inside with something else.

Please share your ideas. Thanks.

I had the same thing happen to me...I removed cover and foam, epoxy mixed with cabosil to hold mounting bolts in place. Reinforce whole thing top and bottom with a couple layers of fibreglass. Turf and reinstall. Worked fine for me. Just make sure you scuff up plastic good before glassing. Hope this helps, should get you through the rest of the summer. , hopefully.

lmao, the same exact thing happened to me a few weeks ago, mine even broke in the exact same places as yours. Consequently I am just buying another stock one.

I just took the foam off and turfed the chinpad. I need to put the inserts back in it, so it just has cable ties where the bolts should be right now.

I had the same problem. I tried every type of epoxy I could find. After the first sub, pop, the chin pad would come off. I just sucked it up and ordered a blowsion pad. Piece of mind, and it's a lot easier to commit to tricks when you're staring at your pole thinking crap, I hope my face doesn't hit the METAL part of my pole.

I installed two anchors in the front kind of like dry wall anchors they spread out when tightened up and they are stainless and they accepts ¼”-20 bolts
I used button head.

Never have a problem now.
