yes he does - highly recommend to anyone!

people to remember to, this is not just a lightweight hull, but a hull with many unique characteristics as far as design and functionality goes. the ride really is incredible. it is the best of all worlds.

thanks man.

Congrats Roo!...I'd like to try the -5.5, see if there is much of a diff.

Post vid, we'd love to see the way that thing rides!

overall, i am loving the ski - best riding ski i have ever been on.

i have two issues i am currently dealing with.

-front cylinder spark plug boot hits the hood liner and actually wore a micro hole in the boot. i just noticed this last night - passed my finger over it when running and ZAPPPP. i was feeling a loss in power and this explains it! another member experienced this as well and cut a hole int he hood liner in the spot - i plan to do the same this evening.

-drive line / pump rattle... hard to explain without riding / experiencing it, but in a nutshell only happens when the ski is in the water / under load. at low RPM/IDLE in the water, you can hear/feel what is almost like a rattling noise - almost like the driveshaft hitting the inner through tube or something. i stripped the whole ski down yesterday. i first pulled the midshaft off - driveshaft seems centered in the hole to me, but you can also move it side-to-side/up-down either direction a couple MM... took the pump off and it has not shifted / moved like i thought it may have... the inner through tube does not seem to be marked up at all (need to get a better light in there this evening). i was hoping once everything was apart, it would be pretty obvious what the problem is but... not so much.

with the pump out of the ski, the driveshaft appears to be straight, and spins solid and smoothly in the pump. i am scratching my head right now on this one.

i hope to get pics / vids some day... no one wants to ever be the camera bitch!

That's what you get for having one of those stupid big motors.

I have had zero driveline issues. I spent a ton of time in assembly getting everything right, but it sounds like you have checked most of the obvious things.

one more thing that is bugging me is water in the tray...

i have come to the conclusion, it doesn't matter what hull it is, they all get water inside the tray.

every ride i have to drain it... (ski comes with two holes drilled and screws to seal 'em when riding) not much comes out, but enough to bug me. been like this since day one.

i'm not the best rider, but i can't imagine owning anything under 1000cc now... (might be different if i was an ocean/surf guy, but i am trapped at my small lake)

i to have taken things in and out, realigned, etc.

ZERO issue when running out of the water, or even just spinning everything by hand at the midshaft (when motor is in or out). just in the water, and under load...

the fun continues...

I'm with you. My Freak stays (almost) dry.
I get a tiny dribble out of one side after a longer ride and that's it.

Luck of the draw there bro. I test all my builds with 15psi air before foaming or finishing up and can garantee they eventually get water in one of the 40 enter exit possibilities, even if just a little.

Roo, I would bet $ you have pump seal / sealing issues, try an ass load of silicone. I dont use any normally but if there were issues with the seal to start its worth a shot.

I'm moved by DASA power!
mine takes on a very lil bit too, but its still 100 lbs lighter than my old rn, so drip away! I have a bit of a vibration under acceleration too, but I attribute it to the Rhaas' urethane motor mounts, I had a at that time too but found my hood seal wasnt sealing well all the way around and that the hood was rubbing on the hull in a few places, a little bit of weatherstripping from the depot and its a night and day difference, nice and quiet (and dry inside) now!

what type of silicone do you suggest?

this has crossed my mind as well.

still working on USS ROOSKI?

at the moment no - the fs-1 has been sitting in the basement collecting dust.

it will probably be put on hold until the winter when riding season is over.

Yes, exhaust. It is such a tiny amount that it's hardly even worth mentioning

exhaust side is where majority of mine comes out as well.

yes - dropping 70 lbs from the fs-1 to this, a little bit of water isn't going to ruin my day... just a bit to bug me, that's all.

i am using a Watcon hood seal - works great.

So far mine has stayed totally dry!

Roo, are you certain that you don't have a vibration under the hood that just transmits through the ski and feels like the driveline? It would make sense that it only did it under load.

I did use regular silicone to smooth over the joint between the pump shoe and pump.
