Rolled my ankle BAD!!!! and then rolled it again 3 weeks and 3 days later.

It felt good so I put on a lace up brace and went riding in 5 footers.

Made it to the end of the second tank of gas and it popped again!!

Am I down for the season???? This sucks!!!!!!!

What everyone said was right though. The first time hurts SO BAD!! I missed 3 days of work for the first time in 10 years!!

The second time I was walking again in 5 minutes.

What do I do man??

That sucks. Been there, done that. It is definately not fun!

I'd say rest it up for a couple of weeks and see how it feels. If it's not still tender, tape it up good with athletic tape under that brace and go ride.:burnout:

Go see a sports medicine doctor.

I was playing indoor soccer in a league years ago and rolled both ankles twice within a year. A soft cast, an injection, some anti-inflammatories, and time healed both perfectly. (the doc said the injection on one was a custom mix of some lubricant, steroid, and anti-inflammatory---I think it was just WD-40).

In the end between me and the doctor, we figured that because I jetski so much, my legs are very strong yet the ankles aren't because they don't do that much side-side stuff, so when I'd go to make a hard cut my leg would overpower the ankle and it would roll over. The indoor surface didn't help much either because of how much grip you can get.

I ended up quitting soccer because spending 6 weeks in a soft cast TWICE was no fun.

I had the same problem as a youngster playing Basketball, now today my ankles are like hinges. Pop and walk!:bananapowerslide:

IMO, don't stay off it and as soon as the pain allows, get back on your ski.

Good Luck.

You probably need to get checked out by an orthopedist if it becomes a common occurence. You may have torn tendons or ligaments that require reattachment. Until that happens, your ankle will be significantly weaker and you will be prone to the same injury over and over.
I would say rest it and ice it until it feels strong enough and pain free, then do some mild exercises/therapy for it- I did calf raises and some basic rotation with ankle weights and I haven't had any issues with mine again. If you do go out, tape it and wear some good boots for support.
