The engine is torn down (cause I thought I had thte crank sold) and ready to send to Art. It looked pretty good inside. The flywheen and stator are perfect. No metal shavings or anything when I took the cover off.

Talked to Bill (Goose) after work today and he said he would start on my hood and pole after Datyona. He will be making my pole, pole bracket, steering, bars, chinpad, and hood.

He is busy working on my pole and bracket for the 750. LOL and many others i am sure. The poles are pretty sick for $400 and really light. Tbaer just got his, check his build out.

replace all your motor mounts with your new motor.

I saw some used ones out of an 06 on ebay, think that would be ok or just shell out the money for new ones? wsm, yamaha or .....? are the shims in there cause the motor mounts differ or cause of the hull? will I be close if I put all new mounts on and put the shims back where they were ar do i start with new mounts and no shims?

Drains you can use 1/4" NPT pipe plugs but you will need to add some material to the back of the ski to accept the threads. I used 5/8" thick 101 nylon cut to match the back bottom contour of the hull and epoxied in.

Under padding use Hydro turfs padding. I have tried them all and have found nothing better.

Trim do a search on C.A.T.s it will be in there.

You will have to check alignment when fitting the motor in your ski to see what shims you need to use.

Don't paint the bottom leave it stock, the paint won't last long.

I use R&D manifolds with filled cross over. Stock also works just fine consult with your builder.

You can buy mounts from any shop like parker and probably your engine builder. Are yours broken?

One of them is crushed on top. you can see it in a pic above

I put a couple 3/4" PWC drains in the back of my SJ when I added footholds and refoamed it last year. I shoved copper pipes in the holes all the way to the front of the foot well area before I foamed to create a couple voids in the bottom where water can collect and drain to the back. Unfortunately I don't have a great pic showing the drains up close. They are just a typical pwc/small boat plug. I almost had a serious problem getting the copper pipe after pouring the foam. I anticipated the foam to stick to the pipe so I coated the pipe in vegetable oil first hoping it would help them slide out easily. This was not the case. I ended up having to heat one of the pipes with a propane torch aimed in the end to heat the pipe and slightly melt the foam that was touching it. Both of the took a LOT of twisting force to get freed from the foam. If I were to do it again I'd definitely try a different oil or grease to coat the pipes with.

I don't think grease would work because of the amount of pressure from the expanding foam?

Came out nice though. Nice turf too.

And x2 on the new motor mounts. 4 brand new Wamiltons. And I just feel it out on the shims.....slide motor back...bump....adjust...

Thanks for the advise!
What is that foam you used on your tray?

Im boxing the motor up to send to Jetworks and I still cant decide if I want to spend the extra $500 for a 4 mm stroker crank instead of just a Hotrods? Is of now it is getting ported cases, big bore sleaves, weiscos, new 44 blackjacks, new Hotrods crank ADA girdle head, Arts cylinder porting, and assembled and jetted by Art. Should I add the stroker crank? OR how about not having him put the bigger sleaves in and just go with a fresh bore and the stroker crank. ??????

The foam on the tray bottom is the Hydroturf 8mm underpadding (2 layers). It's obviously not the finished product. The sides are the B-stock Hydroturf. I used 1 layer of 8 mm underpadding over the entire bottom, then put a second layer on top with the footprints cut out for the footholds and stern eye. The two layers of 8 mm padding give it a nice soft feel without being as extreme as the full 25mm underpad all over. I thought the 25mm would be too much to use on the bottom of the footholds. The underpadding was covered with a layer of B-Stock Hydroturf to finish it off.
