Super Jet Removing metal shards & dust from Carbs

I bought a primer kit to replace my choke system on my '04 Superjet, and little known to me at the time, I ended up having to drill out and dremal the screws that held the choke butterfly valve to the choke stem before pulling the stem. All those tiny screw that attach the brass valve broke right in half when I was unscrewing them.

I tried best I could to tape and stuff close the carb body and venturi, but inevitably, metal shards got spread around pretty well in both carbs. I am rebuilding both carbs at the moment anyhow, is there a way that I can best ensure all these shards and metal dust are gone before I reinstall them? Is there an acid or oil soak that will do a better job than Q-tips, carb cleaner, and compressed air?

Just be liberal with carb cleaner until it's obviously clean.

Chem dip is the best thing I have found to soak parts. It makes everything purty. You could soak a whole carb, but it would eat the o-rings that hold on the throttle shaft. I poured some of the chem dip into a small tray and let the carb soak on it's sides. Let me get the throttle adjustment loose that I had otherwise been unsuccessful. Makes heavily corroded parts useable again and carb jets like brand new.

Did it get down inside the carb other than the tunnel (I know there is a name for this part of carb, venturi?). As stated earlier, just be liberal with the carb cleaner and spray everything out. Take it apart if you have too.

Not so much that I can see shards, but I'm pretty sure the powderized metal from using the cutting disc on my dremel got in there. I'm going to take your guy's advice and take them apart as far as I can then just excessively flush all the channels and nooks and crannies.
