what i want to do now is get this front foot hold installed and i have a few questions before i start. you can see it in the pic just sitting there.
i plan to cut about 3/8 off both top and bottom to make up for the hump in the square tray and allow it to sit even at the bend in the dash.

my first question is other then rivets or screws to first attach the hold what other way do i need to attach? it was used before and i don't think it was glassed in,
i want to know my options and if something like 5200 is sufficient.

thanks for all the info

Highroller Customs front foot hold install in square nose

well tonight i had some time to work on the front foot hold. i started out playing with the hold in the tray trying different angles and working out how much i needed to cut off in order for it to lay flat against the vertical dash panel, but not protrude past the bend in the dash.

the factory hump in the square tray measured roughly 25mm, i initially started thinking i would cut both the top and bottom to make up this difference. i ended up just cutting the bottom section.

in the first mock up when the hold was sitting on an angle it seemed the hold would sit flush at the bend by just removing the 25mm difference in the tray, i was wrong! after i cut 20mm off the bottom i still needed another 10mm to get it down flush.

i ended up cutting it with a jig saw only out of last resort and i don't recommend it. this CF was a real pita to cut and i didn't figure i could be steady enough with the zig saw to cut an even 5mm off both ends. my best bet was to remove another 10mm from the bottom.

i also needed to do this to get the hold to fit my little foot right so cutting the top would have hurt me there, but could be beneficial to someone else that needs the hold mounted higher.

i used a 5mm socket head cap screw, 8mm stainless washer on both sides and a 8mm lock washer on both sides to attach the foot hold to the dash. i didn't have stainless bolts at the shop, but these are hardened tool steel and i ran them through an extra oxide bath before i left the shop just to be safe. they should last awhile before rusting. i also plan to silicon around the nuts inside the hull just have to get some first.

i had 2 small chunks of turf left from doing the rails and not near enough to finish what i need to. so i used the pieces i had to make a template. you can see on the left side its to separate pieces, i did this to get a good fit on both radius on that side. then i just mirrored those to pieces on to the other un-cut chunk.

on the right side is one piece and fits pretty good i want to later use this for a section of turf to cover the whole dash and try to join in the corner to the side turf.

:Banane09:and last i got a pic of me trying out the new hold!!:bananalama:
!!dont rip on me to bad!!

Looks like you almost have everything you need. Remember to torque the head and cylinder down on that motor, since I took them off to take pics before I sold it. You can just paint the bed plates with black engine paint. That's what I used on that motor, and it holds up great.

im getting there, i still need a handful of misc parts and a few more goodies.
i have a new head on the way so im waiting on that before i torque.
and my bedplate's reak of old gas so i hope a good sand blasting will get rid of the smell

ok i have to get this going again. im getting close to putting it all together ive been buying and storing parts for awhile now. i have sj parts laying all over my house lol.
the plan is to get everything i need sitting there just waiting and putting it all together one night. this worked well for my x2, we pulled an all nighter and rode the next day and id like to do the same here.

what i need now are the pump bolts to hull? if someone has them or can tell me the size i would really appreciated it. i dont want to just go sticking bolts in there just to find out.
